All right, seems like enough people are already talking about how the future is going to be awful and are complaining about what's wrong societies that don't even exist yet. In fact, now that I think about it people's idea of the future is usually based on their perception of the present, for example people who are into economics of such will tell you about how the future economies want to crash and whatever, environmentalists will tell you that everyone will be dead because of pollution etc. It's kind of like that movie GATCA where the entire future is based around a single futuristic thing, which is genetic engineering, people's approach to viewing the future is typically based around a single principle advancing into the future, usually one that is present in modern day society… anyways…So… what do you want to see the future, what do you hope to see the future, how can the world be better in the future?

I have a good friend who took Judo for 2 years, it looks like a lot of fun, and very effective.
Apparently a lot of martial arts schools are scams that just teach you flashy stuff instead of actual useful defense techniques (I've heard this about Karate from people who practice other arts.)

KungFu/Wushu
I'm not really sure how to structure this post. I got back from practice just over half an hour ago. My form is getting less shitty as time goes on, and I'm starting to get used to the nunchucks now. I've been only been at at a few months, and even though I'm still pretty awful is significantly better than I was when I started. I can practice longer and more intensely, and I can kick to my face level now. Seeing progress is great, I want to keep going. Teacher wants me to compete in a tournament in late July. Gotta keep practicing.

Why do you think transactions are more important than actually creating something or taking care of the needs of yourself and others. People go to work for 8 hours +2 to get there and back, so they can buy plastic models of imaginary girls. It would make more sense to work for the hours needed to live (housing, food, taking care of car…) and make the figurine by yourself (or learning to actually make at least something, as would be my case).
Of course, that would most likely destroy the economy and GNP. Why is that? I mean, if we did only the work necessary to keep our current standard of living (btw, what is "our" standard of living? some people have to eat trash food because they can't afford it, but I can occasionally eat quite luxuriously, and some could eat caviar and caviar only) people would have a lot more free time, which they could use to make all the unnecessary things they need to pay money for as of now. This way, the gross production would diminish, but only on unnecessary fields like fashion accessories. Still, it would, if what I've been told holds true, actually and in the end destroy the economy and peoples lives. Why is this? Is there something else than work that matters from an economical standpoint?
That something would be the flow of money. Although it holds no meaning, it seems to be the backbone of this world. And I think that it is a bit ridiculous.
Why do you think transactions are more important than actually creating something or taking care of the needs of yourself and others. People go to work for 8 hours +2 to get there and back, so they can buy plastic models of imaginary girls. It would make more sense to work for the hours needed to live (housing, food, taking care of car…) and make the figurine by yourself (or learning to actually make at least something, as would be my case).
Of course, that would most likely destroy the economy and GNP. Why is that? I mean, if we did only the work necessary to keep our current standard of living (btw, what is "our" standard of living? some people have to eat trash food because they can't afford it, but I can occasionally eat quite luxuriously, and some could eat caviar and caviar only) people would have a lot more free time, which they could use to make all the unnecessary things they need to pay money for as of now. This way, the gross production would diminish, but only on unnecessary fields like fashion accessories. Still, it would, if what I've been told holds true, actually and in the end destroy the economy and peoples lives. Why is this? Is there something else than work that matters from an economical standpoint?

Just finished Virtue's Last Reward. If you get past the cliffhanger locks it's seriously one of the best VNs I've ever played, just like 999.

I'm surprised nobody's talking about 07th Expansion, they're still visual novels (though more sound then visual) and their visuals improved what with Rose Guns Days.

I was a pretty big fan of Fate/Stay Night and Tsukihime back in the day, though I gradually lost interest and never really got into the other games. Started out with Tsukihime, but couldn't get into it. Then I gave F/SN a try after seeing the anime, and I absolutely loved it; played it all the way through, got 100% completion, and found myself eagerly awaiting Hollow Ataraxia.
…but then I found out that the Hollow Ataraxia translation project was taking forever (I was already waiting for this translation back when Mikuchan's /onoff/ was still a thing, and the project is *still* not done - even though it's technically been ongoing all that time), so I decided to move on and give Tsukihime another try.
That worked out pretty well. Tsukihime being part of the same setting, Arcueid's infodumps weren't quite as impenetrable to me as they would have been without finishing F/SN beforehand. And the story is IMO pretty good - there's two or three twists in there that managed to surprise me (which doesn't happen all that often), and the scene where you find Arcueid waiting at the entrance of the school remains one of my favourite VN scenes ever. The art is mediocre, the music gets old fast, and the sex scenes are awful - but the story was good enough to keep me hanging on for long enough to finish the main routes.
I would've finished the Far Side of the Moon routes, too, but then my HDD fried itself. I didn't want to play the side stories or Kagetsu Tohya before finishing Tsukihime proper, so I promised myself to reinstall it and play through the whole thing again. But then boredom and procrastination set in, and I was getting a bit tired of Nasu's stuff anyway. I have yet to replay Tsukihime in earnest.

1) Bring 2 cups water to a boil in a pot.
2) Add 2 cups granulated sugar and dissolve.
3) Lower heat, simmer until contents of pot are reduced by half.
4) Refrigerate.
Sour Mix:
1) Juice several lemons to produce 1 cup lemon juice.
2) Juice several limes to produce 1 cup lime juice.
3) Pour juices through a fine strainer to remove pulp, and combine.
4) Refrigerate.
Grenadine:
1) Bring 4 cups pomegranate juice to a boil in a pot. (We used two 16-ounce bottles of POM brand juice.)
2) Lower heat, simmer until contents of pot are reduced by half.

Add a dash of vodka to the Sour Mix and the Grenadine to preserve it longer.

Met up with my friends from Fanime-Channel, made some homemade mixers. Good stuff. Instructions below.Simple Syrup:
1) Bring 2 cups water to a boil in a pot.
2) Add 2 cups granulated sugar and dissolve.
3) Lower heat, simmer until contents of pot are reduced by half.
4) Refrigerate.
Sour Mix:
1) Juice several lemons to produce 1 cup lemon juice.
2) Juice several limes to produce 1 cup lime juice.
3) Pour juices through a fine strainer to remove pulp, and combine.
4) Refrigerate.
Grenadine:
1) Bring 4 cups pomegranate juice to a boil in a pot. (We used two 16-ounce bottles of POM brand juice.)
2) Lower heat, simmer until contents of pot are reduced by half.
3) Add 2 cups granulated sugar and dissolve.
4) Refrigerate.
Add a dash of vodka to the Sour Mix and the Grenadine to preserve it longer.

I want to attain absolute harmony with the world and free myself of destructive emotions. I feel as if I must rid myself of all material possessions and comforts in order to attain this. As long as my needs can easily be satisfied I will never get any satisfaction from life. If I were to be deprived of everything then even the simplest of things would fill me with pleasure. I doubt I could live such a life for ever but the experience would at least allow me to appreciate things more. I wouldn't mind living in a secluded Buddhist temple somewhere in the Himalayas for a while.

My gerbil Rascal died today. he took a stroke on Tuesday and I thought he was gonna get better, I had him on a heated blanket and I was feeding him with a dropper, and he seemed to be recovering for a few days, but apparently he died shortly after I went to school today.
I feel terrible. He was only a year old, he was supposed to live to be two or three. I'm gonna miss him, he was so cool. I really loved him a lot.

It's like the Madoka Magicka counterpart to mech anime. And it's also a fantastic character study with great writing. It's incredibly depressing but it's worth the ride. So many plot twists, jesus christ.
People often complain about the art style but eh. I love how eccentric the robot designs are. ( The main mech used is pretty standard but further in the series they get bizarre).
Also, it has my favorite anime opening song of all time.

We recently swore off anything containing non-specified gelatin because you never know if it's pork or beef gelatin and we can't do pork because of health and religious reasons. We've had to drop a lot of things from our candy section like starburts, marshmallows, and gummi snacks. We recently found out Skittles are fine so at least there's that. It's a buzzkill though to find something you'd like to get (Gingerbread poptarts for example) and fine gelatin in the ingredients and have to put it back.
