I absolutely despise the consumerist idea of Christmas. The rushing, buying of gifts, silly clothes and trying to out-do others with decorations. Bleh. Don't even get me started on the music and overly nosy and cheery attitudes of everyone around you.
I do, however, enjoy it's more traditional form. The day before Christmas I go visit my grandma, and stay with her and mum. We set up a tree [real one, the whole house ends up smelling like the forest] and spend the whole day making all sorts of food and pastries. We exchange small gifts, mostly handmade things and chocolate in the morning. It's very calm and cozy.
Whoever came up with the idea that Christmas is supposed to be celebrated for 2 months is an idiot.
Where is your christmas spirit anon, ho ho ho !
i stopped getting gifts when i turned 13 because my family is poor and i am bitter about it
I don't hate it but my religion forbids me to celebrate christmas. Christian btw.
Anon could be a Jehovah's Witness.
And I dislike Christmas, too. Its so stressful and makes everyone in my house a nervous wreck which in turn makes me a nervous wreck too. I don't want presents or mall shopping or loud holiday music everywhere. I have too much to worry about even without Christmas stress.
