First place, for me anyway, is the Brazen Bull.

A hollow bronze bull, filled with both yourself and some water and ever so slowly boiled up from underneath. Nothing more painful than roasting to death.

then one time I had to have a long car ride with some stupid hyper asspie (long before I know what that was) and my family and I had to listen to him go on and on and on for A FUCKING HOUR AND A HALF about torture devices and methods with vivid description of what it would look like and how much pain it would cause and he was so fixated on stuff that went in the butt and leaned over me all but yelling about hot ass pokers and not taking the dozens of hints that he needed to shut his fucking ass up already, sit the fuck down, buckle his fucking seatbelt, and stop talking about peritonitis and anal tearing with a ten year old. My parents were uselessly mortified. My dad told his mom to get him into therapy before he grew up to be a serial rapist. lol.

Anyway, guillotines are pretty cool for executions, they're dramatic and terrifying. For pure torture, iron maidens were always iconic to me

My favourite is chinese water torture.
