Anyone know well of this game? Definitely one of my favorite visual novels. It's about a man who gets involved with the mafia in California, and his memories are wiped clean.

>a man

There are no men in Japanese media, only strange teenage androgynes with ill-fitting voices.

Hokuto no Ken exists. Your argument is already dead.

Alright, post-90s Japanese media.

I know what you mean. The role of the alpha male has diminished in mainstream anime and manga. I asked around and still couldn't come up with the kind of argument Hokuto no Ken is. Actually, the only somewhat recent and popular manga that revolves around manliness was Vagabond.
I still don't think the situation is as bleak as you imply. That is simply because there are all kinds of manga, and as there are stories about little girls who stop bullets by peeing at them, there are also stories of naval warfare and the destinies of the men involved.

It's still sad how the unforgiving, violent and almost evil manliness is less and less frequent. But in my opinion, change is better than stasis and as men go away, girls take their place. The roles of female characters vary a lot more than in the eighties. I hope.

Dood

Hokuto no Ken can hardly be described as an Alpha male

He's more along the lines of God-tier manly. An Alpha's balls would shrink just by being in a 2-mile radius of him

Well, I was talking mostly about what they look like; namely frail, effeminate, dainty androgynous teenagers who should barely be able to lift a weapon of any kind.

Like, the pic that OP posted is a perfect example; I can't tell the gender of either of the people in that picture.

They're both girls, plus one of them is wearing a skirt…

>skirt

Since when has that meant anything in Japan

Good point…

>implying a skirt means anything in the west, either.

Japan was a pure, fascist empire before they were exposed to yankee decadency. After that it has been all downhill to the point where harem manga/anime exists.
