It's finally done. Shoujo Gidan is translated and the english version is released. Many thanks to all the people who helped with the production of this patch.

https://www.mediafire.com/?eq78lbw09r49a2e

The game is a sequel to Shoujo Kidan, and works in a similar fashion, albeit slightly differently. Although it's not necessary to have played the previous game, it is recommended. I've included the original hint file made by lol plus a guide I originally made for testers. If any question or problem arises, feel free to post them here.

Sorry. Although I took Portuguese in high school, I'm not proficient in it at all.
You're free to ask lol_rust if they don't mind a Portuguese translation. If they give you the OK, feel free to use the English version as a base.

Helloachan!

I am working on a new game engine using PyGame for graphical point-and-click adventure games, a-la Myst. Currently I have a PreAlpha I made in about 10 hours that is functional enough for a simple walk-around-and-look-at-things game. Planned features include music and sound, scripting, save files, inventory, FMV support, and a simple battle system.

The engine is called BXEngine, and the showcase game is Backrooms Explorer. I haven't taken my own photos yet so I grabbed them from various places for testing; they will be replaced. Currently there are only four rooms to look at in the demo, but the file formats are extremely simple and it should be easy for anyone who wants to play with it to make their own walkaround at this point.

To play the game, move your mouse around the screen to look for indicators. If your mouse is near an available exit (center or edges of the screen), a navigation indicator will appear. If you mouse over something you can interact with, an action indicator will appear. If more than one indicator icon appears, left click performs the top action and right click performs the bottom action.

I will post updates here as I add new features.

tl;dr I made an adventure game engine that is functional enough to play with a bit.

Did anybody of you hear of this game?

"Worlds" is an indie game made in 2016, that consists of Hitman and MGS-like gameplay; dreamy and surreal landscapes, and cozy/eerie locations in vein of Yume Nikki and Myst; interesting plot with many secrets; quests that affects the further events and affect the story in one way or another, and many cryptic details that a passionate player can discover.

You play as Reyk, a newbie secret service agent of an interdimensional illuminati organization. Basically, all the game is about you doing your work: assassinations of "inconvenient" persons on different worlds, bringing back lost documents/equipment, finding your lost comrades, or investigating newfound worlds. However, don't expect the story to be as boring as it sounds - believe me, the game will find a way to surprise you more than once.

The game passed under the radar of indie players, and remains barely recognized, all due to its name. I can't tell whether the dev just didn't think about it, or maybe he just wanted it to stay as obscure as possible. Either way, I got into it expecting just a boring stealth shooter (and I hate stealth games, actually), and ended up sinking in 20+ hours non stop solely because of pure entertainment and genuine feeling of adventure, where you can't even predict what to expect next.

Give it a try, anon. Games like that definitely deserve attention.

I'll be honest I've seen the name get tossed around a bit through the years but always kind of wrote this game off as another minecraft/roblox/kid thing for whatever reason so I never cared, but it actually looks a little better than that.

its a very cool game from the little I was able to play but the linux build kept crashing and gave me a myriad of issues that just made me throw in the towel. ;(
sad because the game mightve been really special otherwise. Maybe I'll give it another shot in the future.

HORESES' MUSIC-DOGS makes really cool unconventional rpgmaker 2000 games with nice music. I recommend you start with CLASSIC GAME, it's kind of like a dream you had about a roguelike. The games are quite mysterious and not well documented so this thread will be a good place to collect information and ideas. I've become totally fascinated with iamqqqqqqq as an artist. They've produced a large library of music, art, and games over more than a decade while seemingly remaining a nobody with very little people talking about their work. The lack of discussion around their games in particular is interesting because they are all excellent and incredibly unique, and have been out for years.

I've taken a liking to their music, particularly what they've released as "the scum of tone"

In Classic Game is the part with the floating islands meant to let you fly over collision objects like a ghost? It was fascinating and a lot of fun, but I can't work out if it was intentional or a bug (I was running the game in WINE)

Bumping this question. Let me clarify: I'm looking for an out of bounds glitch/feature accessible from the pictured area ("Unparalleled"). "Floating islands area" doesn't seem like the best description when you're walking around it, but when flying around there a lot more of them are visible. One of those islands has a "HOW DID YOU GET HERE?" sign, which might imply the oob is intentional, though with the dev's love of the word INACCESSIBLE I wouldn't be at all surprised of there's all sorts of places you're not ever meant to see.

Champions of Norrath, an EverQuest spin-off. Really great ARPG in the style of Dark Alliance. Multiple classes with very different abilities, such as the Cleric who can summon an ice hammer to follow enemies around or the Shadowknight that spreads poison / disease. The story has 5 acts and takes you to a huge variety of locations (forest, underground lava area, tropical islands, underwater, frozen tundra, etc) and it has a lot of cool boss fights / villains.

Really nice to see somebody else liking the game ICO. I remember only playing the demo from a PS demo disc and I couldn't forget it, eventually played the actual game myself for the first time in 2020. not sure if I'm misremembering the demo but I vaguely recall being able to play two player and actually controlling Yorda.

Dewprism (US: Threads of Fate): underrated PS1 gem, low-poly comfy game. Technically released in 1999 (JP) but wasn't out in the US until 2000.
Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure: a Falcom action rpg with drills, powerups and outfits. Fun art style too

Recently a Japanese language game on Vector that has received some attention and well-regard. Soon, it will be translated. Now, by who? We don't know! Not by me, that's for sure! But rest assured, it will be translated soon (I predict within 1 month or two). When that happens, a torrent link will be posted in this page to distribute the translated version. If anyone wants to take the translated version and upload it to somewhere like Mediafire, be my guest, since the torrent will probably die soon after it is first released.

For now, I give you a picture of the main character, Koko.

I don't understand either how did this pretty mediocre game manage to get that much attention. The pussy dev drama probably was the only memorable thing about it, and there's a fuckton of other titles that did everything Bury does much better. Not to mention their developers much more friendly and nice to target audience.

Has anyone here yet succeeded in getting the alternative ending?

 No.1571

Yeah, actually.

One method of retrieving the alternative ending is to accumulate atleast sixty-seventy 'nothings' by slaying the battle creatures. You should probably do this before initiating into the end game area. Upon completing the story you'll be introduce to the different ending.

Also, if you want a quick tip on generating a lot of nothings quickly–-hunt some thrones(they're really weak) or go out the area in the Beetleground apartments where the bloody bunny creatures live and fight their throngs.
