But seriously, it's very annoying when a fangame developer deletes the old version of their game after uploading a new one. Especially often it happens with fangames published on itch.io, and I doubt it boils down to limitations of the website, because, for example, Black Rain developers, by some miracle, are keeping (almost) all the game versions on itch.io page.

Hi, I'm the one who made the original Junko v 1.02 post (and who helped search for it on reddit). Since I haven't seen anyone comment on it, I recently went to the YNOnline page and saw that a mysterious door appears at the top and if you click on it, it takes you to a semi-mysterious image.

I contributed some music to yume 4kki/shikki and was working on some levels when it was cancelled, made me very sad. I'm not sure how 2kki is developed, but keeping things anonymous and away from nonsense discord drama seems the ideal way to make a ynfg. I'd happily take lead on something like this but I don't really know where to start, music I can do well, art I can do decently if I really put myself to task, but programming/leading a programming project is simply beyond me.

As someone who also wants to make their own fangame, one thing that's good to keep in mind and has helped ease some of my own worries is that a lot of fangames will start out a little rough or messy. Take Witoru, one of the classic FGs, for instance - this is what it looked like back in ver 0.30 and it's a far cry from what it would eventually become. Heck, even the OG Yume Nikki started out much more modest. TCRF has good pages on the matter, def check them out, as it went thru quite a bit before it became what we know today (case in point, Uboa didn't make his debut until ver 0.08!).

So yeah, don't worry about getting it perfect on the first go, that's what updates are for. Honestly, just getting something out the door is a feat that, as mundane as it seems, isn't as easy or commonplace as one would believe.

Hey folks, it's me again! And I'm here to show you what was originally a creative draft for what would have been my Dream Diary Jam entry in June.

It is:
-A Yume Nikki styled game, more along the lines of Nightmare Castle than Hell Diary or Amihailu in Dreamland

-Started development today, on top of what was originally supposed to be the PMD Music update to AiD.

-Stars another Dugashoba girl, Maho!

Features:
-Tiniest game yet, probably going to be a WHOPPING 10MB when a build releases (if that)

-Cute and useful effects!

-The same setting as Nightmare Castle and the other games in the series

Hi, forgive me if this is the wrong place to post about this game. It is pretty fun and a bit different for a YNFG. It has RPG-like status and you have to battle symbol (effect?) holders to get the symbols. There's eight, as well as some good ol' endings. The game is not short, though and the difficulty is hard at the start.

So in Yume 2kki you can load a custom wallpaper to the computer in Urotsuki's room.
There's already a "default" custom wallpaper in the main directory of the game named pc_back.png.
It's the one with a geisha on it.

This file can be replaced by a 256-color PNG, BMP, or XYZ format image of the player's choice, ideally 320x240 pixels in dimension.
Here you have my custom gondola wallpaper and what it looks like in game.

So dump all of your custom wallpapers in this thread. You may even find one you'll love to use for yourself.

Is not really clear what actually happen with him. His case is one that deeply resonate in my head constantly, like if it was someone close that suddenly dissapear. I remember even reading something random about that maybe xx was actually a tiny group of people rather that one individual, and some heavy arguments behind scenes related about LcdDem cause a dissolution (tho obviously there's not solid proof of that; again, sometime random I read years ago).

While I haven't played Lcd Dem just yet, I recently decided to take a plunge into exploring Koronba's musical productions and I've been having the time of my life. Stuff like untitled_0346, Oivomaitnt, and the OST for Ghost Mayoker have been playing on repeat dozens of times these past few days, and I think I finally see why Koronba's disappearance caused such an stir within his audience. Seeing a genuinely talented creative vanish and nuke their work always makes me wonder what else they could've achieved had they stuck around. While I wish Koronba would've found a way to continue despite gaining more popularity than they were comfortable with, I can't exactly say I don't see why they did it, as I've frequently nuked my own art accounts at various points because of sharp bouts of embarrassment in tandem with getting bigger amounts of attention. I very much regret doing so and please don't take my experiences as endorsement of what they did and how they did it, but more to show that what they felt isn't as uncommon or unthinkable as some might think. Fame, even minor fame, can be as scary as it is tantalizing, and all the more reason why I favor imageboards as my choice of place to post my work. (NOTE: the image I chose is not my own BTW, artfromsaturn made it)

The art doesn't hold up that well and the gameplay flow(lol) of taking the same three routes because of the small world number gets really tiresome but it still proved a fangame could be much more than an uninspired clone and a great way to tell a story.
