This. Though running RPG Maker 2000 and 2003 games works just fine (at least in my experience so far), I would highly recommend going with the EasyRPG Player. I'd recommend using a "continuous build"

Whoops. I forgot to add "in Wine". A bit unrelated but it's very impressive how far both Wine and Proton have come.
