Old things always get my nostalgia going.

Wow, I'm not the only one here who used these kind of machines. Too bad I don't have my MSX here, so I can't post a pic of it… :(

This is where the magic happens.

Why do all of you have CRT monitors?
CRT is bad and you all should feel bad.

Believe or not, high-end CRT monitors are less damaging to the eye than any flat panel displays with LED backlight…

I prefer CRTs, myself. It might just be me, but the colors seem more vibrant.

so I just scored toriningen@outlook.com as an email address. I will never use it despite all the glee I got for about 5 minutes at snagging it.

First person to post with their email gets it, I'll send you the pw. Wish I could think of a more clever way to COMPETE, but meh w.e.

[there are probably still plenty of YN / other names available]

Mmm, delicious Python lambdas.

Anyone like Lisp or Haskell?

Tried C++ once - the debugger and direct x environment made me cry

>no stdio.h

That's a paddlin'.

Umm… I know Basic?

I want to get into programming.

When I see scripts people wrote themselves, or look at the source code of certain things, It basically just fucking baffles me. I have absolutely no clue what any of it means, how people could possibly comprehend it, or how it makes things on a computer do things.

When I think about someone programming a high end video game, or hell, even a small one, it makes my mind want to explode.

What type of computer are you using right now? Is it your own?

Actually it's a slimline desktop.

File: 1343771844719.jpg (14.17 KB, 300x300, 1288-2532-large.jpg)

I'm using an Acer Aspire 5742G.

I'm using an Aspire 5551, which looks exactly like that, and every single day I turn it on, I regret paying the price of a mint-condition 5-10 years old subcompact car for this piece of shit made of the lowest quality recycled plastic they could find in Taiwan.

Fan needs constant cleaning, and to clean it, I have to take the whole motherfuckin' machine apart. Every time I take this shit apart, something breaks from the inside, no matter how careful I am, since this shitty plastic became brittle from thermal fatigue, even if it's just one fuckin' year old.

Fuck this shit, when I had an Asus F5, I though there's no notebook shittier than that one. But there is.

Next time I'll either buy a VAIO or a MacBook Pro. (The latter seems to be the better choice because of the aluminum case, but I feel sorry for the Foxconn workers, so I think I'll get a VAIO.)

>>1392 Here; I know that feeling man. I had a Lenovo before getting my Macbook and it failed spectacularly. The cheap plastic cracked leaving me with an exposed fan, which became clogged with metal brackets that came off the inside causing it to overheat constantly. Then the disk drive fell out. I managed to open it up and resecure the disc drive and unclog the fan, but a week later the touchpad and mouse buttons stopped working. True, I had it for a few years before shit hit the fan, but my HP from 2006 still works.

So yeah >>1396, that's why I have a MacBook. I systematically eliminated everything that failed in my last computer. Mac just happened to be the cheapest of the choices.

I didn't have the time or money to build my own last time I upgraded so I have this 2.5ghz quadcore intel core 2 thing with 4gb of ddr2 and luxurious onboard video. Nothing to write home about

I also have a nice lenovo laptop running windows 7 but I don't use it too much right now

and then there's that frankenstein's monster in the living room that I use for a jukebox. it's a piece of shit. 128mb ddr

All those Tokarevs…

That's not a Mosin-Nagant. That's a Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk 1

You're right. I hadn't looked at the picture full-size in a while. That makes it even more depressing.

File: 1343130949994.jpg (63.17 KB, 640x444, bong.jpg)

What's your favourite kind of bong?

I like when they have an ice catcher in the neck, so you can cool the smoke off.

File: 1343154050146.jpg (42.1 KB, 401x440, 1291844217781.jpg)

I like a long straight neck with ice notches and a slide with a big bowl. and a preferably flat base like a beaker. currently I have a minibong that has none of those things

do you prefer slide or carb/choke? I know a guy who has one with both. I call the hermaphrobong

he hates that because he's a homophobe, lol

carb > slide … don't need to worry about breaking the bowl if you misalign it while sliding it back in

Let's talk about our favorite killing machines. Purging the atheist scum is optional.

This is a butt pyramid. Actually it's called a Judas cradle, but look at it. It was made for butts.

File: 1343094298579.png (33.89 KB, 160x140, crocodile_shears.jpg.png)

This guy's my personal favorite. Crocodile shears, so adorable~

Lined with teeth on the inside to sink into and tear appendages off a person like a finger or perhaps somebody's penis

File: 1343094361444.jpg (24.52 KB, 300x365, ironspider01.jpg)

But second place definitely goes to the Spanish Spider. Mostly because I really like how it looks

File: 1343131135560.jpg (136.71 KB, 702x916, Pierre_Woeiriot_Phalaris.jpg)

First place, for me anyway, is the Brazen Bull.

A hollow bronze bull, filled with both yourself and some water and ever so slowly boiled up from underneath. Nothing more painful than roasting to death.

File: 1343154870168.gif (24.05 KB, 176x208, 1282037405637.gif)

I used to be really interested in this shit.

then one time I had to have a long car ride with some stupid hyper asspie (long before I know what that was) and my family and I had to listen to him go on and on and on for A FUCKING HOUR AND A HALF about torture devices and methods with vivid description of what it would look like and how much pain it would cause and he was so fixated on stuff that went in the butt and leaned over me all but yelling about hot ass pokers and not taking the dozens of hints that he needed to shut his fucking ass up already, sit the fuck down, buckle his fucking seatbelt, and stop talking about peritonitis and anal tearing with a ten year old. My parents were uselessly mortified. My dad told his mom to get him into therapy before he grew up to be a serial rapist. lol.

Wherever you are now, here's a big shitty fuck you, Cal.

Anyway, guillotines are pretty cool for executions, they're dramatic and terrifying. For pure torture, iron maidens were always iconic to me

File: 1343170129948.png (155.07 KB, 280x417, SingSing_torture_1860.png)

My favourite is chinese water torture.

Subtle. Simple. Devastating. ^___^

I like millipedes better, they are cuter and they roll up in a spiral and they are less likely to give you gangrene

centipedes are usually colorful and cool, but they return search results for the human centipede, which is a retarded idea and I don't know why people love it so much. also they will fucking kill your ass.

just wanted to add that this blog http://www.apheloria.org/Paul/millipedia_blog/millipedia_blog.html is the source of my op image, it's by an entomologist and his mini articles are really great!
