So guys, 2 questions:
>1- What do you think about next generations and how the world is going to develop? Time span from here to 15-20 years in the future.

I'm waiting for more crisis and possibly a great war, though I dare not say it would be WW3, probably smaller, but still big enough to be considered a thread to at least one continent.

>2- How is going to be internet by then?

Since internet will become super-extra mainstream, my major fear is that it's going to be full of cancer sites like reddit-shit and dumblr whores. We, asocial cunts, will have to hide in encoded servers and deep proxychains to have our personal tea parties and drama contests in some kind of text-image board format like we do now, with the difference that they're going to be like some real secret club instead of open servers accessible for everyone.

Well I agree that people like pic-related are part of the problem. Luckily those sorts of people are also really impotent and don't exactly have the will or courage to do major shit. Only problem is if they form the consensus, and I'm not entirely convinced they're going to. Backlash'll come.

I think technology will develop magnificently and probably be used for hilariously shitty purposes like always. I think a major war probably won't actually come but we will repeatedly run to the brink of one. I think that both the US and Europe will steeply decline, and that China will also teeter on the edge.

I'm hopeful about some things and think some good stuff may happen but I don't wanna say what because it sounds naive even to me.

I think the internet is already going fast in that direction and that will only continue speeding up as the internet is monetized more and more and they find ways to milk everything. There'll probably be tons of subscription-based imageboards sooner or later, it'll be pretty ugly.

>1
The reason WW1 happened was the web of alliances on a single continent. Any war among powers great enough to be a threat to a continent would quickly become a threat to the entire world. Either there will be no more (traditional/visible) wars, or a single war that has the potential to literally change everything.
>2
It depends on what extent the government messes with the internet, and how much "mega-corporations" mess with the government. Likely, for the American people, it only get worse. The net may be mostly neutral, but there's no guarantee it will stay that way. Eventually the people that fought so hard for freedom will either give up or die, without anyone to replace them. Technology, affluence, and laziness come hand in hand, and as technology grows exponentially, so does laziness.
TL;DR nowhere to go but down.

I don't really feel like just giving up, I've been fighting to live for quite a long time now. But it's a battle just for the sake of it. In the end it means nothing.

You do impact your life greatly, as well as lives of those you meet along the way, which is why I want to keep living. I'd like to think that I've saved at least 2 people and improved lives of a couple others, even if just a little, and I'd like to keep doing that.

However, in the end, a human life, humans as a species in general are a speck of dust. It doesn't mean you shouldn't be the best piece of dust you can be but that's what you are.

Even if you'll never see a positive change in your lifetime, you can build foundations and pave a path for the next generation to try again. At the very least, I want to do that. You don't have to stop affecting the world when you die.

>However, in the end, a human life, humans as a species in general are a speck of dust. It doesn't mean you shouldn't be the best piece of dust you can be but that's what you are.

Ah, this feeling, I think we all experience this a couple of times in the span of our lives. Exactly because it doesn't matter is why you shouldn't over think it too much. If we aren't really meant to be something at all, then so be it,
I'm personally ok with that. I'm kind of nihilistic after all, so disappearing is quite reassuring in the end, though I'm not content with how edgy this makes me sound.

 No.3211

Why do you care?
You recognize there isn't some kind of great monolithic meaning carried down from on high.
That's great.
It's great that we're here for no single reason or purpose beyond the endless self-propagation we've found meaningful things beyond. It's great we aren't bound by some emotionally ill father in the sky. It's great that we're free, fundamentally free.

How is that not fucking great?

We can do whatever we want. We don't have to sit inside ourselves and if we feel we do we can and unless we care what others think, it won't matter. In fact it won't matter either way.

As far as we know, every other form of life ever has not only not had our self-awareness or ability for complex emotion and self-expression, they've mostly just lived to outfuck and outfight each other, growing and changing toward nothing but death. We do too, but we do more than just that, and even the ways that we do that, our tears and out blood and our pain and our joys, they're beautiful, and even if they don't have a set meaning I'm glad we exist for the brief moment we do, even though I'm pretty much alone and feel like shit most of the time. Because I have that, and even that has some value. At least to me, and again, if that's the only meaning there is, so be it.

 No.3212

So what? You dont need to amount to anything, we should be able to just enjoy what we have.
All this amount to anything shit just stuff people say to make other people work.

Besides if you want to do something, go for it, if not thats just fine.

Something interesting I learned while searching around for pictures: apparently those long fluorescent bulbs can gather EM radiation and eventually light up slightly if you hold them under an area dense enough with powerlines. Anyone know if this is actually true, or is it just an urban legend?

It's true, I've seen a TV program where they explained it throughfully. I've never seen it in person because we don't have these powerlines here, though
