So.
I started a remix of "Hospital Halls" and "Children's Hospital" from the .flow OST. Help me get this better and tell me what it sounds like so far. I would especially like tips about equalizing the instruments well, since I don't like how they sound as an ensemble.

I'll have to lenghten it, yeah. Also, I was thinking of adding a solo and some chiptune-like instruments to give it a different vibe after a while. Glad you liked it (:

Yeah nice cover. Some stuff in the Xasthur's discography are more than decent, like Subliminal Genocide (The prison of mirrors) or the Xasthur demo (2006). I really like his sound, weird, indistinct and dissonant. It was not the worst example I could give about dsbm.

He is a bit inconsistent, but he has put out some very good songs, like Prison of Mirrors. I like how he blurs everything together into a single overbearing mass. And I like the minimal synths he puts in the background, like that hypnotic little synth riff behind Untitled 4/05.

Has anyone listened to Reverend Bizarre's cover of Dunkelheit? They're a doom metal band so it's massive, slow and with operatic vocals.

They also make Traditional Doom Metal. This song fucking rocks:

Hiya! So I hope this is the right board for this and whatnot, but ANYWAY.

So I'm an amateur electronic musician and for the month of September I'm going to be challenging myself to create a simple ambient song every day. The end goal is going to be putting an album up on Bandcamp and letting Yume Nikki fangame makers know that they can use the tracks in their games if they so wish.

Now, here's where you guys come in: I'm also taking requests. So if you need a track, or maybe even two, for your game, let me know! All I need to know is if you want the song to loop (Which is a good idea unless you want to use the song as a credits theme), what kind of instruments you'd like to see used, a description of the area it'll be used in would be nice for me, and maybe even what emotion you want the song to evoke. Anything to help me create the perfect song for you, right?

Three things to keep in mind. 1 I've never made a good piano melody or chords or anything, if it's piano I probably suck at it. 2 I usually have a hard time making my songs happy. 3 And I'm even new to the whole looping aspect of songs so I might mess up there! Of course you shouldn't let any of this stop you from requesting any of this stuff, these are just my personal downfalls. If you want me to challenge myself, go for it, that's what this is all about, right?

If you want examples of my work I'll link you to a few relevant songs of mine:
http://soundcloud.com/bwarch/flicker
http://soundcloud.com/bwarch/pinkamena-extended
http://soundcloud.com/bwarch/ponder-the-meaning-of-it-all

I think that's it, I'm sorry if this became a bit long winded! I look forward to seeing any requests if people get interested in my own little challenge.

Post too long. Click here to view the full text.

Day 2 "Lonely"
http://soundcloud.com/bwarch/lonely-day-2-of-yume-nikki

Made for a fangame called Redux, created by: http://everyday-im-fluxing.tumblr.com/

The request: http://everyday-im-fluxing.tumblr.com/post/30626897153/bwarch-automation-title-theme-bwarch-today

The client did not like a lot of what I was doing with this track, but they did like the music box melody so they requested a version with just the windup sound and the music box. Which will be easy to get for everybody else once I release the stems~

(Also If anybody wants to mention how music boxes do not start over when you wind them up I have one thing to say to you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8qcccZy03s )

Very cool stuff. But you should listen to some of the bass-ier ambient tracks on shitty speakers, because they are impossible to hear without headphones for me.

Sorry to see you haven't continued this.

Hey ubuuchons look what I found.
http://stereopsis.com/flux/
Apparently it's a software that adjusts the brightness/color of your screen depending on the time of day. This way when it's late your computer screen won't completely kill your eyes, as well as fool you into thinking you're not tired because of the brightness of your screen. Just plug in your coordinates and go. You even have the option for a slow transition so it's not so sudden.

The orange color was a little annoying at first, but it really does seem to help my eyes. The only problem with it is that if you want to uninstall it you have to manually get rid of all the registry keys and program files since the uninstall doesn't do jack shit. That and there can be some issues with fullscreen programs like Yume Nikki/fangames, though there's an option to disable it for an hour.
It's definitely a good idea though.

 No.436

I used to use this and just leave it on the dim orange.
After I turned it off it felt so cold..

 No.437

I tried this once, but my computer is so crappy that it made the screen stutter. It's a really nice program though.

Hi Mad(o)men/women/Bleeding Triangular Prisms,

I recently made a song sampling my favorite of the Yume Nikki BGMs. There's a build up to the main section looping BGM_012 nicely, so if you're patient, you'll find it to be really good, I promise! :D

http://soundcloud.com/mistersquared
It's the only track on there for now, titled "Yume need help"

Scuba get!

This is really cool. I love the interplay between the samples and the guitar.

Thanks a lot! I'm really glad you enjoy it :) I will be posting another tune very soon. It's not YN related, but it's definitely awesome!

 No.474

This is very nice. How long did it take you to make this?

 No.475

Whoooo!!! Like a month, hahaha! The development was slow initially, but as soon as I figured out how the main section was going to sound(at about 2:23) everything fell into place :)
I appreciate you taking the time to listen!
