I just need some help with the slanderman costume I'm making for Halloween and comic con this year.
I know where to find the suite but what I need help with is the face and body. I intend to get a white body suite but I can really find any cheap ones anywhere.
If possible can you guys give me some help on finding cheap way to make the rest of the costume?
Pic related, it's slendy.

Trying to do a smile cosplay . I found some bandages, a hammer ,but not sure what I should do for the shirt and pants. A white button up shirt with a red tie or a dark brown shirt with a red scarf?

 No.646

Button-up shirt and red undershirt. Optionally, get the Button-up dirty until it's brown for authenticity or just get a brown one.

Don't forget to cut the sleeves off and that the symbol on his eyes are squared off at the end.

 No.647

Alternatively, you could get a leather vest. That might just make you look like a hick, though.

That's why i don't wear mine unless I'm going to a 'fancy' event, which can be used pretty loosely in Texas.

Could someone give me some advice on making a good uboa costume?

Oh, should have figured. Welp, of course get the back fabric and white fabric, should be the very first thing you do. One good way to do it is…

>Sew face onto black fabric.

>Drape super long black fabric over a fullsized umbrella. Sew it on
>Don't actually look out face, but out the right eye, because it'll be big enough for you to see through
>Fabric is now hanging loose, allowing even exposure to it, if you get light enough black fabric, you'll stay nice and cool whilst still being invisible. Any movement will also look fucking cool.
>at the bottom of long fabric, shred it up. Get the fabric way longer than you need for this effect to be the best
> fabric is now super feathery. When it "sits" it'll naturally spread out more.

An extension to that would be getting some PVC pipe, a 5 splitter, and putting some wheels on it, so that way it could stand on it's own, and it's movements would be extremely smooth.

Those were just some ideas though.

Wouldn't a full size umbrella be to big in a con setting?

 No.610

>>609
There are always big cosplays, this would be one of them. Plus since you can always close an umbrella, you wouldn't have to keep it open all the time in the more crowded places. Plus, it'd be cool to have a small Poniko cosplay to wear under the Uboa cosplay. Two cosplays at Once!

You can get a smaller sized umbrella if you so wish it instead. Regardless the operation stays the same. Just make sure you use light enough fabric so that the umbrella can easily support it.

 No.611

>>609
what about one of those umbrella hats?

 No.613

>>611
Those aren't generally big enough AFAIR.
Suppose it would work though, but it would still look awkward IMO.

I was bored, so I decided to try my hand at doing a Kaibutsu scar.

Ignore the hair, and stuff. Did this without bothering with my bed-hair and junk.

Did a new paint job on my pole recently. Made it look a bit more realistic than the old "slate gray" look.

Because I ask every year. Last year I found a crappy Madotsuki who had barely played Yume Nikki.
This year Bemani Invasion will be bringing their arcade machines there.
Fuck Yeah.

gollygosh sorry for the camwhore picture :/ I can't really take pictures by myself because I'm an idiot. But yeah, I was bored, so I decided to dick around with what makeup I had and I made a closet little sister cosplay?!
I guess.

This makeup was really fun haha

Looks good, and it just feels like a grown up Sister in my opinion

Why not stick with your usual name though?

 No.598

Great work on the make-up. Smile/Sister make is is a TON of fun to do. Keep up the good work.

but now it's time for me to be a critic douche bag:

Try adding a bit more black to add some emphasis on the tattoos. Don't just use one color for those wounds on your arms, add some darker reds and such to add a bit more emphasis on the cuts. The outer area looks a bit too "Orange", but that it could just be the camera.

Hello /cos/ I really need your help and opinion with this (And excuse any spelling mistake, English is not my main language).
So, long story short I want to cosplay Monoko BUT in a very realistic way; I want to make her extra arms robotic, I don't really worry about the looks of it since I'm planning on make syntethic sking made of latex or something to cover the robot and then put makeup over that and stuff.
So the questions: Do you think it could really be done? Any books of basic robotics you can reccomend me? Should I use a fluffy twin tail clip-on wig or just a non-removable twin tail wig? What color of lenses should I use (I was planning on useing one that covers my whole eye with white for the drooling eye and the other black but I want you opinion guys)? And I was planning to do it for halloween, do you think I can make it?
About the time I'm on vacation so I have all day to work on it. And I think I may be forgetting something but I'll see how this goes so far; Thank you so much /cos/
>Picture related

 No.596

how operational are we talking here, and what experience do you have in robotics?
I think you are better off creating a high detail string puppet, but you could maybe pull off some minor twitch movements or gestures.
it will also probably weigh more than you are expecting, and it will be a pain in the ass to strap securely to your arms.

 No.597

I was thinking on a remote control that I can easily hide on the "vortex" she has on her belly, I've made a couple robots for robot fights but with very simple structures like the ones on a remote-control car and electric motors with saws to attack. I know it will be really heavy but I will be using it for photoshoots mostley. I thought of that string puttpet thing too but I would do it just if I'm sure I can't do the robot because I really want to creep everyone out in halloween and plus it's a very strong cosplay challenge I want to make.
And it would be fucking EPIC
Got everything I needed from goodwill for six bucks, got felt and sewed it on. All I need are red mary janes.

Will be Madotsuki at Middle Tennessee Anime Convention, right after Pinkie Pie.

Skirt is perfect color, but not shown. Too lazy.

 No.242

I like affordable cosplay. ($_$)
Oh wow, that lighting. It's so, well, yellow.

I'm not too sure how accurate the hair is, but I like it anyways!
Pretty good picture (besides the lighting perhaps), and the cosplay looks pretty good too from what I can tell.

Also, I'm happy to see a new cosplay here (not that Madotsuki cosplay is new, but you know what I mean); it's been a while.

Yeah, my camera does that, but on skype it doesn't. 8C

My hair is black but in April when the convention comes around, I'm going to dye it dark brown (which happens to be my natural hair color anyway)

As of now my hair's a bit short but it grows a lot in winter, so I'll have to see how that goes as well. :3

Thank you!! ♥

Hiya guise I'm gonna cosplay for the first time in my life soon or something like that. Wondering if there are any random tips you could throw at me while I'm at it. I know it's a vague request but eh… picture very related.

 No.559

wigs r important
if you are female playing a male character, you should still wear make up. wear minimal make up to cover any blemishes, make your lips match your skin tone, and define your eyes.
if you are cosplaying a character that requires make up to change your skin colour, make sure you use high quality make up and seal it. you can find finishing powders and sealants for make up online pretty sure.
if you are not super toned n shit you should get a body shaper to smooth out your lumps.
you may want to bring a long a bag with make up n stuff in it incase you need to do touch ups.
if you are cosplaying at a con in the summer, you should probably bring spray on deoderant.

if you are cosplaying a popular character and are attending a con
please get yourself a body gaurd.

 No.560

Thanks for the tip.
I'm a guy so I won't have that much trouble. I'm afraid I won't be wearing makeup in order to make my skin the same tone as that of the characters I will be cosplaying, but it won't be a problem since those are not the standards here. I will probably wear some to even the tone of my skin here and there.
I'm not toned, but I don't have any extra bags here and there. I'm not skinny either, so I guess I'll be fine. I'm working out either way.
I'll bring a bag and such just in case, as you have suggested. Deodorant and other stuff too, I'm sure I'll need it.

And again, since I'm a guy, I won't need a bodyguard. Nobody knows the characters I'll go as anyway.

Also I custom dyed the clothing, but the shirt took in less dye than the pants.
The shirt is a dress shirt and the pants are doctor scrubs. Scrubs are amazing for cheep cosplay pants if you didn't know

thanks! :D they were mildly expensive but on sale so not terrible. Roberto Chillini is the brand and they are actually reptile print when you look at them in person. its not too distracting from their necessary elements of being red and fancy though.
I may or may not be planning to wear them as regular footwear >>

Thank you! :DD
so if my friend pulls through for me here, I may have the flute effect guy/ O man/speakerdude (as i call him) as duo cosplay for next acen! the techniques and materials are almost the same except with different coloration and of course the different shaped headpiece front.
gonna start building that asap. My friend isnt the most motivated cosplay maker but he would wear it if it was made already i bet.
that was actually the plan from last year, but it fell through due to time.
its still not high on my list of costumes to make this summer, but it should be doable before next spring for sure…
