wigs r important
if you are female playing a male character, you should still wear make up. wear minimal make up to cover any blemishes, make your lips match your skin tone, and define your eyes.
if you are cosplaying a character that requires make up to change your skin colour, make sure you use high quality make up and seal it. you can find finishing powders and sealants for make up online pretty sure.
if you are not super toned n shit you should get a body shaper to smooth out your lumps.
you may want to bring a long a bag with make up n stuff in it incase you need to do touch ups.
if you are cosplaying at a con in the summer, you should probably bring spray on deoderant.
if you are cosplaying a popular character and are attending a con
please get yourself a body gaurd.

Thanks for the tip.
I'm a guy so I won't have that much trouble. I'm afraid I won't be wearing makeup in order to make my skin the same tone as that of the characters I will be cosplaying, but it won't be a problem since those are not the standards here. I will probably wear some to even the tone of my skin here and there.
I'm not toned, but I don't have any extra bags here and there. I'm not skinny either, so I guess I'll be fine. I'm working out either way.
I'll bring a bag and such just in case, as you have suggested. Deodorant and other stuff too, I'm sure I'll need it.
And again, since I'm a guy, I won't need a bodyguard. Nobody knows the characters I'll go as anyway.
