Cosplayed for the first time ever this weekend at Ohayocon as everyone's favorite derpy space pianist! Sorry about the crap quality of the pic. I doubt it will be the last time I cosplay as Masada, so I thought I might get some critiquing and/or advice as to what to do for his eyes. Surprisingly enough, at least 15 or so people recognized me without going full derp, (is there some correlation between Homestuck fans and Yume Nikki? because most of the people who recognized me were cosplaying Homestuck trolls, haha). Is the piano belt a good touch or no?

Yes, the piano belt is AWESOME.
And by that I mean it's very cool.
Other than that, I think this cosplay looks pretty cool.
It'd be nice to see some other pics, maybe in different lighting.

As for advice, unfortunately I don't have any (right now at least).

Thanks! Poniko's wig was against all styling, so we did what we could xD

Also the knife was made out of cheap cardboard, because I couldn't bring in a real knife ^^;;

Poniko also had an uboa mask. Anyone want to see it?

Higher-grade wigs generally resist styling. Though if you cannot style the wig, despite all your best efforts, you may have to get another wig; as unfortunate as that sounds, the style is necessary.

You could probably make a knife out of expanding foam, with an outerlayer of tape so you could paint it without hurting the foam.
Remember, an oversized Knife is better then a slinky tiny knife.

Wow, that's an awesome Mado cosplay! But, for the Poniko cosplayer, Poniko has a ponytail. It could be a short ponytail depending on how you view Poniko, but, most people see her as having a long ponytail.

The Poniko should have a pony tail, but kudos on having the right color green shirt! It seems to me that it would be a little hard to find.

It would be absolutely lovely if we could have a group videochat session, showing off cosplays, or well just discussing cosplays. I suggest a Tinychat, personally. I wouldn't mind making an account and admining it if you guys wanted to use it.

i think uboachan has a tinychat room… but it's been a long time since it's been used. we do have a skype group chat but only people with the newer version of skype would be able to group video, and you'd have to make a new group for it since everyone doesnt have it >:

oh um… here's my half-assed halloween costume. if you can't tell, i was a ghetto version of the laughing dude from 2kki. i plan on improving this and stuff… so that it can someday be a full cosplay!

either order a proper binder from underworks or use a new training bra that is a few sizes two small for you OR use anything that isnt ace bandage or duct tape
ace bandage is hurtful because it doesnt give or move with you as you breathe like a real binder does, it causes your lungs to have problems as well as possibly causing fractures.

I didn't really. The black fabric was pretty thin so I made sure my eyes always lined up with it, but I also had to look forward and peek out of the bottom pretty often to avoid stepping on anyone's toes and such. The entire face is attached to a hood so if I needed to get somewhere really fast or otherwise come up for light/air I would just put the hood down and flip all the fabric over my back and become a civilian with fishnets and a cape.

ok, time to try and bring this /cos/ board back from the depths of hell.
anyone try to cosplay this chill motherfucker?
He is my plan for ACEN this spring, and i was wondering about all of your headcannons on him.
i was thinking a half-sphere head and a purple jumpsuit/buisness casual.
or another route would be a thick coin-like head and a buiness suit.
mix and match between those, of course.
for the main e shape, I always saw it as a noodle-y structure, so for the sake of fitting my head i was thinking a half noodle mounted onto the face plate, perhaps from model magic or foam, for a lower weight.
I'm giving him arms despite his sprite not really showing any, mostly because no arms and low vision is dangerous.
anything else to be said/done?
at ACEN my bro and I are planning on decking out as e man and the speaker dude/flute effect guy, and chillin on couches in the lobby, sneezin on catgirls. If you are headed to ACEN feel free to come chill with us

all I'm worried about with the coin shape is that it will need to be pretty big if i want proportions AND for it to fit my head, although it would be way easier to do than the hybrid.
I'm going to actually measure my head when i get an extra hand or two, and then I will know for sure what kind of proportions this would have to be.
I want it to be a perfect circle shape, not too thick, and not too thin so that it cannot fit my head with EASE. I have experience with having large globes and gerbil balls on my head for hours at a time, and the hardest part aside from seeing is getting it on and off.
Once my family's holiday hubub is done I am headed to the stores to check out clothing. If i photograph suits and various uniforms would any of you care to judge them for how well they would work?

another thing is getting close to the color in suit form. I know a tacky suit shop that is decently priced, but even decently priced suits may become difficult to afford. we shall see though. If anything I will save up and buy one anyways, and if I miss the con date I will have something else to wear as back up for it.

I think it looks great, your facial structure really compliments the wig despite it not being white. Some make-up to make you look a bit more sickly that'd really compliment it. I can't wait to see progress, I'm really excited to see the rest of this cosplay.

I think if you get these lenses or othe rblue lenses it will really complimemnt your costume! Your eyes are kinda more green then they should be, but since it's nothing too extreme yu don't need extreme lenses. Good luck!
