KLK was bad because it's mainstream shonenshit and it's just kindof weird, like the art direction seemed claustrophobic. Granted I only watched the first two episodes but I could tell where the series was going and I promptly dropped it.

I watched the first two episodes of Oreimo, might pick it up later. Mostly for Kuroneko best girl.

I remember in the manga (the only Tsukihime thing I've seen) that Arcuied (or someone) says that he'd have to be like non-living things to be able to see their points and destroy them; he'd have to be braindead, or realdead, I forget.

In the games Shiki is able to see the lines/points on death of everything. In the middle of the story he escorts Arcueid to hunt some "Zombies", which are absolutely and utterly dead, as if they were rock. Shiki perceives them as just lines without his glasses on. (It is revealed that since they are completely dead, what he perceives is death itself, which affects his brain cells and that's why it's so difficult to stare at them directly or why his headaches go mad when doing so, etc, etc, etc) I didn't try anything else from the VS so I don't know what the other medias say.
He also destroyed a few things that weren't lifeforms in the novel thanks to being able to see the lines (a bed, walls, a whole alley).
It's also a key factor in the end of the game.

I recommend you to play it. The art is sometimes kinda awful (specially the H-scenes), but you have to remember this is doujin from 1999-2000.
Overall, it's really well written so you pass it easily. I read the Japanese version is even better because Nasu's style and Kanji usage is pretty unique, which is one of the most acclaimed good points of the game.

Anyway, the English version is really enjoyable too, and it's one of my favorite Visual Novels. I'm saving money to try to buy an original copy through auction.

I must warn you that if you're going to choose Arcueid's path, there's a huge possibility you will end up crying like a little girl.

That being said, and in case you liked Tsukihime, you definitively will feel like playing Kagetsu Tohya and Tsukihime+disk.

Kagetsu happens a year after the events in Tsukihime. It has the main story and 10 unlockable little stories, 7 written by Nasu and the other 3 being fan-fic.
The game system is a motherfucker and it takes quite a time to understand how it works, but the visual novel is as really enjoyable and it makes you want to explore it more. I like too the general humour Type-Moon puts into the daily messages or the "easter eggs". Also, Len.

Tsukihime + Disk has 3 alternate stories that are somehow related to Tsukihime. It's interesting nonetheless.


As a side note, I started watching the anime. It's pretty disappointing, I have to say. It lacks the feeling the VS had.
It's possibly because it's happening too fast: but it feels more like a trailer than an actual serie. I'd say I enjoyed the way Shiki used to describe everything, how he used to think; it made it feel much more interesting, and somehow personal. That, and the music. However, the series lacks this, which leads to make me feel it's… not right. I also didn't like the artstyle. And believe me, the art is not the strongest weapon in the VS, but it definitively fits better somehow…

If the manga is like this, then I have to say you will really enjoy the novel more than anything else. From the little I know, it is more related to the game than anything else; I'll check it as soon as I can, but, all in all, the anime is not what I thought it would be, and if the manga goes the same way then they really don't even reach the highness of the novel.

I watched the original movie yesterday. I'm not a huge fan of jap live action, but, since I really enjoy anything indie, I decided to give it a try.
Man, the first part of the movie is kinda crappy, but in the middle it gets really good. I really liked it.

If you liked Fuan no Tane, I recommend Koushiou Radio.

Dude. I've always been weak, but I find attraction to strong women because they are attractive even in their 50's. An example is Naoko Oosawa. I think Avatar the Last Airbender was the first anime I watched, if it even counts that is. Fullmetal Alchemist was probably the one that got me into it all.

I haven't watched anime in a while though…

Bought ghost in the shell on vhs in 96 via some kind of mail-order. I miss those days without internet :( "Sounds cool - must have!"

Dragon Ball Z got me started but G Gundam solidified my love for anime.

So my first anime didn't really get me sucked into all that anime biz, but that's because my first anime was Studio ghibli's Spirited away, followed by Grave of the fireflies. Not to say they were bad or anything, because they were masterpieces. But it led me to being mildly interested in anime, and accepting of it.

I guess that I have to say it wasn't just one anime that got me sucked in. It went as such. Yugioh/Pokemon->Inu-Yasha/YuYu Hakusho->Haibane Renmei->Naruto (But now I don't really like it much at all, sorry to those who love it still)->FLCL->Berserk. [spoiler] You know whats funny about this post? Every anime I listed was marked as a misspelled work, except of course for Berserk, but also Naruto for some reason [/spoiler]

However, after that time period, my family went homeless and I lost touch with anime. What actually got me back in was when my cousin Nate introduced me to Mirai Nikki, then simultaneously watching Berserk again. But then the real roll started when I started hanging out with new otaku friends, some of whom browse this board. They turned me on to the Monogatari series, I started browsing /a/ and found many more animes to watch. My favorites are Berserk, Kyousougiga, Monogatari, FLCL, Cromartie High, and Sayonara Zetsunou Sensei.

…So guys, whats coming up this next season?

I saw a lot of anime before I become a frequent watcher FMA, eva stuff like that. But K-On! got me hooked on cute 2d girls, I still remember back when it came out waiting anxiously for it to be subbed, repeating the K-On! opening for hours on end with a huge smile on my face. After that I looked for more shows like it, and basically moved into the medium.

I finished the manga. Pretty good, specially because of the ending (I always wondered what happened after all). It also shows off a lot of things that may have not been so clear in the anime.

Anyway I adore the speculation you had to give in the original series so…
Dunno, lovely, after all. Also, I'm really in love Sadamoto's style, so it was really refreshing to look at. He managed to make it a good manga even with the different branches it takes compared with the 'canon' of the Series.

So how about the fact that the sequel theory relied heavily on Yui's apparent absence, but 3.0 came along and Fuyutsuki bluntly and blatantly tells Shinji that his mom is in Unit-01 (even the original series was nowhere near this direct in regards to the soul inside Unit-01).

3.0 (the English dub) will be screened at various theaters in the US in January 2014.

Any material that might negatively affect the 'natural' feeling of shame that is linked to anything sexual is banned by law.

In practice, they have for some reason decided to just blur or cover with black bars or make a 'proud sword' a proud swor and call it good after that. It's more a practice than a law.

I think it's some vague "obscenity" law that has come to be defined as "literally anything goes just as long as you blur out the genitals".

Fun fact: child porn was legal in Japan until 1999, when it was made illegal due to pressure from the US.
