I didn't see a thread like this so I guess I'll make one!
What anime are you currently watching? What have you most recently finished, and what do you plan to watch next? Also, this is a good place to post your myanimelist

I'll go first!
Watching: Monster (2 episodes in)
Just finished: Revolutionary Girl Utena
Plan to watch: Second seasons of Chuunibyou and Silver Spoon, the new Sailor Moon anime. A friend's been trying to get me to watch Clannad but it looks kind of shit.

Currently at 91 days of anime!

 No.678

I'm watching Love Hina (again)
Boogiepop Phantom
Hell Girl
The new JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
I just finished Paranoia Agent

 No.679

I'm watching K-ON for no good reason and I just dropped Kill La Kill.

 No.680

I think Free! was the last thing I watched way back in like I dunno July? I needed something to pass the time while I was camping. I am also part way through Kikaider 01: The Animation and 4 episodes into Psycho Pass (I can't remember when I started watching those).

I haven't had time for anime these days but I still read quite a lot of manga (I'm almost double the days reading manga compared to watching anime)

Some day I'll tackle my "to watch" list. Someday I'll also finish Utena too (torrented the entire thing after having trouble watching it online, it just sort of sits on my external now sadly)

Also I guess looking through your list Booger I completely forgot about a shit ton of movies I'd watched and now I'm up a few more days. Apparently you have a higher anime compatibility with me then my husband does hahaha

 No.682

Last things I watched were the eva movies and Aoi Bungaku [again]. I honestly don't know what to watch as all recent anime seems to be harem/school life simulator.

 No.683

I'm also looking forward to oyasumi punpun's last volume. It should be just a couple weeks now!

its already out just not on mangafox or whatever, someone did their own translation of the entire last volume here: http://blackinque.imgur.com/

Watching: Galaxy Railways (5 episodes in)
Just Finished: Monster
Plan to watch: Same as before

Monster was awesome, I made my goal of finishing all 74 episodes before school went back.
Galaxy Railways is pretty cool so far, but it has all the cheesiness of a 70's anime. I'm mostly just watching it because I've been meaning to get into Matsumoto Leiji since I've always adored Interstella 5555 to death, and this seemed like the most accessible thing linked to the guy. The familiar art style makes it kinda nostalgic by default.
I have no clue what I'm watching for the winter season besides for what I already said…The Tonari no Seki-Kun animation they got going is already great, but the episodes are only 10 minutes. I can tell it has almost no budget, but it seems like there's heart behind it.
Anyway, I need to pick up more current series, but nothing's really leaping out at me, do you guys know if any of the stuff coming out this season will be any good?

Odd how Anna in Frozen looked like the girl from Moving Castle when he hair was fully white and wearing her purple robe.

 No.726

Watching: Patlabor and Black Jack
Last finished: Mushi-shi OVA (last series was Non Non Biyori)
Plan to watch: All the first episodes I've downloaded from this season… some day.

 No.727

I'm watching evangelion to better prepare for tangification later this year

I watched tokyo godfathers on netflix the other day. surprisingly, it was subtitled. it was pretty great

has anyone seen space dandy? seems ok

Space dandy is pretty cool!

Just finished: Galaxy Railways (actually finished last week. it was cool)
Now Watching: same, picked up Hoozuki no Reitetsu but it's not so great
Plan to watch: I was GONNA finally watch Mononoke (the show nor the miyazaki movie) or Moribito, but I can't find places to watch either with both decent load times and good quality ._.

I just finished ctaching up on KlK and Gundam Build Fighters, and caught the first episode f wizard baristers. Both KlK and Gundam BEST FRIENDS had intense new episodes with kickass fight choreography, and while I enjoyed the animation of Wizard Barristers, I'm finding the
premise of bit hard to swallow right now. I think I can dig it, I'm interested in Magick and WB is probably going to be better than Tokyo Ravens (which I did drop).

I finished Turn-A Gundam last night. So fucking good, easily the best ending of any gundam series. I would know, now that I've seen all of them (except SEED and AGE, but fuck that). The ending, or rather the epilouge, was abosulety phenominal, and the swans sent shivers down my spine. I think Lalah really did go beyond time. I wish I could write something more poetic, but I haven't written anything in quite a while.

So yeah, that's what I've been watching recently. I still need to catch up finish Kyouruger and Kyousougiga, along with some other fall anime, and I also want to start Space Dandy, Buddy Complex and Witchcraft Works, as far as recent anime is concerned. My true love is 80s mecha, but I want to wait until I have a job to indulge in that.

I started watching Gregory Horror Show and somehow I can't stop watching it @____@

It's like finding an anime that's so familiar yet new and knowing this was what you've always been dreaming about. It reminds me a lot of old school video games as well and they're so short (2 and a half minutes an episode) I just pop episodes like they were pills.

The thing is 3 seasons long with 25 episodes a season, which is like a little more then an hour per season. Really short and nice

 No.738

Current: Card Captor Sakura (@ep7)
Finished: Nanoha Series
Planning to finally fihish Sailor Moon

BIG POINTLESS UPDATE!
Watching: Space Dandy, Space Bros, ect all the same as before except I dropped Samurai Flaminco for becoming a pile of dog turn.
I'm also working on Clannad. I'm 12 episodes in, it's…ok. I absolutely hate the faces in this show they are so gross. I'm watching the episodes sped up to 150% speed so at least it's not so slow and I can get through it faster.

Just Finished:
-Black Lagoon
-Inferno Cop

Plan to Watch:
-Black Lagoon: Second Barrage
-Clannad: After Story (I sort of don't wanna but Clannad is starting to get a little interesting now and I hear part 2 is better),
-Darker Than Black
-Yuri Yuri
-Kotoura-san

I don't know much about the last 3 but my friend gave me the files so might as well give it a shot. I'm trying to watch more of what my college friends have seen. I've watched more anime than the rest of the anime AND gamers clubs COMBINED, but I haven't seen half of the same shows that everyone else has seen. I don't care about whether something is popular or not as long as I like it, but I want to be able to discuss more with everyone. They're all waaaay slower than me at watching anime so I'll just watch what they've seen than wait for them to check my recommendations.

ALSO I REALLY LOVED BLACK LAGOON. Roberta is my spirit animal. I got like 2 or 3 episodes in on seccond barrage but I put it on hold because the site I was using for it had glitchy audio for all the episodes. My friend gave me files for that, too, so I'll finish it as soon as Clannad is done. Then Clannad 2. Then darker than black, then yuri yuri. I'll do a pattern of "dark and violent followed by moeshit followed by dark followed by more" so I don't get tired of either genre.
Even if I'm getting a little sick of the moe already.

Space Dandy really became amazing, it got off to a lackluster start but now it just keeps getting better and better. My favorite episodes so far are: (not in order)
10- I love mew, his family is cute~
4- most unique Zombie episode I've ever seen, it could have been so cliche with them just killing zombies but it went in such a beautiful direction!
5- SPACE☆DADDY
9- Mostly for the visuals, it gave me some sweet Kaiba vibes. The little plant
girl was cute and it was very bittersweet
8- This one struck a personal chord with me. I'm a huge crybaby sucker for anything related to Laika. I researched everything I could about Laika when I was in highschool, did an essay on her for in senior year (topic was completely up to us), read a few heartbreaking comic books about her, and loved two different Vocaloid songs about her. Laika's story is something I always found very sad but interesting, and now it's a little nostalgic. I hadn't though of her in over a year, but I cried watching this episode of Space Dandy.

>inferno cop

I've been watching space dandy too, but I'm not liking the lack of some kind of direction. On the flip side, the episodes with the little kid and laika keep me wondering if they're going to make an actual story for the last few episodes, or if it's just a bunch of laugh-driven single stories.

Also, you'll probably like Darker than Black. Great characters, story's fantastic, main character is a literal chinese electric batman. Just, promise. Never watch the second season. I can't get it out of my head how bad it was.

 No.775

>>774
I forgot to check out finish inferno cop until last week, I didn't remember to watch new episodes when it was airing. I love me some skeletons. Robo inferno cop was my favorite part. Especially when he ate the chicken~

Eh, I'm really digging Space Dandy. The first and third episodes put me to sleep but I love everything else. I like how all over the place and kinda experimental it is with storytelling. I mean, we can't expect much continuity and linear storytelling in a show where the main character the main character has kind of died or whatever at the ends of like, what, 3 episodes? (The first, zombie episode, and the racing episode)
It's a wild ride and I love it, baby!

Color me too traditional, but I don't like watching things that are too aimless. Space Dandy has a lot of style, but that's about all I can say about it, minus those two episodes I really liked.

Take Mushishi for example. Every episode contains its own arc of storytelling, but each feels like it has purpose or impact. Most of these lack either, more often than not.

 No.777

>>776
watching aimless stuff makes me feel good about my aimless life. Even these anime directors don't have their shit together but they still doing good.

ahaha no I'm not being serious

 No.779

so like why did kill la kill suck so bad

 No.788

>>779
KLK was bad because it's mainstream shonenshit and it's just kindof weird, like the art direction seemed claustrophobic. Granted I only watched the first two episodes but I could tell where the series was going and I promptly dropped it.

I watched the first two episodes of Oreimo, might pick it up later. Mostly for Kuroneko best girl.

 No.789

Watching:
-Isshuukan Friends (interesting concept. cute show. laid back.)
-Tonari no Seki-kun (still going strong)
-Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders
-Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka? (uh…don't ask. I'm a sucker for rabbits. even if there's barely any in this dumb show. I don't dislike it enough to drop it, it's amusing I guess)
-Kotoura-San

Just Finished: [well these were back in march]
-Clannad After Story (the character designs are STILL disgusting but the story became acceptable once they got out of highschool)
-Black Lagoon: Second Barrage
-Paradise Kiss

Hoozuki no Reitetsu ended up getting really good. I loved the final episode of Space Dandy. I hope Space Bros' hiatus isn't gonna be more than like 2 seasons long…

Plan to Watch:
-Ping Pong (starting this real soon)
