>>2445>cheap unity gameI wouldn't be so sure about that considering that fact that they could've even done visual novel promoting it as "based on TRUE EXPLANATION OF YN'S PLOT by Kikiyama" and it would've take less effort. And, by your logic, it would've sold just as good (because KIKIYAMA BIG NEWS FOR GAMING COMUNITY!!!11 REEE). But they did a full scale indie game. Any game is hard to develop, anon, especially with such complicated gameplay as here. Even if you don't like it, you have to admit that they could've done just platformer or just 3D adventure game etc and it would've be more easy to develop. They did a lot of work on designing new locations, 3D modelling etc. Once again, you may not like graphics in the game, but here's the fact: they've paid 3D modelers, animators, designers and, you know, it costs money. So I wouldn't be so sure about calling this game "cheap unity game".
I'm sure they could've just done walking simulator and save a lot of money. Yes, they could've just rip off original game but convert it to 3D (and everyone would be more accepting btw). But they did this instead for some reason. They've designed new locations etc. And it takes more effort than just copying original game. Why would they do it?
Besides, if they care only about money why they still keep fixing it and and even released new update? Free new update, not DLC or some shit like this. Why?
>gaming community>implying that someone besides YN community cares about YNYes, I see all that hype around new game. I see tons of letsplays, tons of new people. Wow. What a massive 'news', as you say.
It seems to me that from financial point of view everything would've be more successful if they've done original game instead of YN fangame.
Again, if Kadokawa wanted to exploit RPGmaker games community so badly they've better done 3D Witch House or some shit like this. Or Ao Oni 3D. Why not?
1) You can contact developers; 2) It has bigger community than YN;
But from all of things they've chosen to make a game for a dying fandom. Why? They are a big corporation, and yes, I know that they own all rights on RPG Maker. But if Kikiyama by any chance appeared and said "hey this is my game! you have no rights!", than Kadokawa will have problems. Or at least their reputation will be ruined in this 'huge gaming community'.
>contact KikiyamaI've said "Kadokawa", not Kikiyama.
>>2444Who? Where? Did you contacted with people from a credit roll of the game (3D modelers, designers, composers, etc)? I assume not. If they worked on a game together than they could've described at least what exactly Kikiyama did on this game. I assume that they could at least say how was the game development process. I assume that someone must know something about that situation but you didn't even tried doing this.
For fandom, that glorifies YN and Kikiyama so much, that's extremely small effort to find out even if Kikiyama is still alive.
