If I remember right, someone in the Japanese fandom found out that an older version of the game was featured on a CD in some old gaming magazine. This was a long-ass time ago, of course, so copies of the magazine and the CD itself were hard to find. Someone had apparently gotten their hands on it, though, and was offering to stream (or just put it up for download?) the game for a pretty large sum of money…

There was also no way of checking whether this was an actual old version of the game or if the guy had just edited the current game a bit and tried to scam everyone.

If I recall correctly, it was actually two magazines. One contained version 0.04, and the other contained version 0.06. There might've been a third magazine which contained 0.04 like the first one, but I'm uncertain of that.

Gotta love frauds.

A year ago, I met a guy who said he'd played v.0.08 of YN after finding a rar of it on 4chan. We drifted apart and he purged me from his Skype, though.
Do you guys think I should try and reconnect with him and ask if he still has it?

Well, I tried to add him, it's been over a week and he hasn't accepted. Either he's no longer using that Skype account, he doesn't want to reconnect or idk. Guess we'll never know. RIP.
