Yeah it's time. The server just siphons away users from the main site. 3/4ths of our users only post on the server and not on the site.

also ive been on the groomcord and it is genuinely one of the most embarrassing places i've ever seen, actual reddit memes, soyfaggotry, and the same astroturfed unfunny injokes and puns you see shoved down your throat on every normfag place on the internet (which has kind of ended up contaminating the actual website too LOL). just put it and the "people" that populate it out of their misery.

Man back in the day we just had IRC and it was okay.

Me? I don't personally care, I never liked Discord, but I should do what the community wants. I do wish they actually posted in the site however, otherwise why have the name "Uboachan" in it.

My story with the Discord server is bumpy. I was against the creation of the server and I was banned from the site for complaining, so I went to the server to troll and I was kicked out because I beat one of the mods(get shit on retard) in a debate and they were really mad about it.

Back then, it was a full of drama queens, the CURRENT discord people seem very civil and friendly however.

I know some users here also hang out there, so I am torn, what does the community want?

that's the kicker. if you don't have full cross-platform interaction, then it is, by definition, taking users. also afaik none of the actual jannies on ubuu have discord permissions lmao, so it's basically connected by name only

congratulation on winning your debatitty i guess but like ok so what attachment do you have to the groomcord, then? i mean give it a few days for the cummunity to weigh in but i've basically never seen anything other than negative sentiment about it, (over my ~4 (lol) years of using this site so don't take this too seriously) and if you don't have any personal skin in the game, why not just pull ze plug?

I'll let this discussion continue until I see enough from the community, if the website posters continue to agree, I'll remove the link from our side.

If I remove the link and people start complaining, that will just prove they weren't even visiting the site to begin with and their opinions don't matter, people making fun of them won't be punished.

Just to be clear, I'm not admin of that server, so I cannot delete it, its became a community of its own.

additionally i generally feel like there's a lot that could be done to help clean up the site, and i'd be excited to see it. if this gets seconded i might do like a mockup in mspaint but

) better graphic design overall. stuff like the sidebar looks great but it basically just serves to put the board directory up top to shame. actually, thinking about it now, why is there both the sidebar and a board directory? just make the "download", "community", and "uboachan" sections collapsible (ideally without an animation) and then you can have the sidebar double as a navigation tool.

Okay, I've seen enough, this was very one sided.
The Discord server is no longer official, they are a community of their own.

Also, the link to YNO has been removed.

I may do something about banners or not, we'll see. At the same time, I'm happy to see everyone give their opinions and suggestions, thank you.

If you wanna help shape the website into what this community wants, don't be shy and make threads to create a standard of the type of threads you wanna see, have a random opinion about Yume Nikki, the fangames or anything in our airspace? Go ahead and post it.

I'm not gonna do everything I am told, but generally I will take action if I see general consensus, like here.

Just a lurker, here. Occasional once-in-a-blue-moon poster. Never bothered checking the discord server. removing it was a pretty easy choice if the community over there diverged from being primarily about this imageboard and became it's own culture. Nothing personal, ofc.

I wasn't there for when they added the invite link on Uboa, so I wonder what was the thought process behind the decision. I was going to cynically question how discord killed the site, but I realized that Discord offers a superior way of communicating with a community by virtue of being an app that alot of people use, has a wider reach and is just a faster method of communication since people are logged in the service and notified about msgs, for most of the time. I cry about Discord, but it is (or should be) a more appealing service for people wanting something faster than an imageboard.

Let's see if its exclusion will drive an increase in user retention on the site! :^)))))))

Eh. It is true that I don't care enough for some of them. I think some of them are "ugly" because some of they do not resonate with the current batch of folks here. AKA not getting it. Making events for the community to make new ones is, of course, always welcome. I wouldn't mind seeing some replacements that reflects Seagal's vibes.

removing YNO and keeping the dead as hell dream project is an odd choice. my only guess is youre reinterpreting 'community services' as stuff related to the board. still weird to me since its very much 'community'.

Is there a YNO particular experience worth to share? Most of the YNO userbase is the average #memes Ctrl+C discord user.

The dream whatever project on the other hand, is just an inactive thing, there isn't anything wrong with it beyond that.

In the end, like I said earlier, I will listen to the community but not do everything I am told and instead do what I think is best, this isn't a democracy, I very much agree that Discord is a cancer to the community and that is why it was removed.

Funny story: one late night I got bored and decided to check it out for myself. Members of my VRchat family warned me about this place. I then looked at the shitposts. I frowned. All zoomerslop. Uboa wept. It was then started hitting my desk with my computer mouse in frustration, knowing I couldn’t say anything that wouldn’t get me banned. Roommate checked up on me and I got so mad I chucked my Rukia figurine at him. TLDR he needed stitches and I am now facing eviction (welp).
