But it's not just "some translation",
The bug is actually present in the version which can be downloaded here, from the Uboachan.

Everyone who downloads the game from here will have to fix this by themself.

My suggestion is:
Why not fix this once and upload the fixed version here, to replace the current one?
This way everyone who will download the game will have this problem already solved.

Actually, when I found out about this bug (not much later after I found out about this game) I was surprised that nobody did this yet,
the game is sitting here for some years already and the fix is super easy.

There is just one misnamed file.
The RPG_RT.ldb database expects a file called "FCM,QALL.xyz" (46 43 4D 82 51 41 4C 4C) but the file's actual name is "FCM2ALL.xyz" (46 43 4D 32 41 4C 4C)

All needed to do is to edit the filename or the database entry so that they are identical.

Only problem I see with this is that the download here contains an installer. And in the installer the file contents and even file names are compressed so this cannot be solved by a simple change with a hex editor.

So, if someone here is able to generate the installer from the translated version I'd highly recommend doing it.
This way this problem will be gone onceAnd4all.xyz

It's not that much of a big deal, it's not like you have any reason to explore after collecting all effects. You can always roll a new game for that.

Yes, most of the time it is not a very big deal indeed.
However, it depends on your game style.

For me it was like this:
I kept only one save.
When I collected more effects I was overwriting the same save all time.
So in the "diary" only the first position was used.
So after having all of them if i wanted to go somewhere see something choosing that first position was a natural choice.
It's better to play with all effects than none.

When I went to the fc place the game crashed. At that point I have already seen something about that in the wiki so i could quickly find how to fix it and did it.
But I was a little disappointed that this wasn't already done.

I've made a portable version of the original, Japanese version of Yume Nikki v0.1, that includes the bugfix patch on Kikiyama's site, and doesn't need the RTP to be run. Would you consider hosting a copy of my repack on this site?
