whats the point?, /hikki/ is the only remotely active board anyway, seems like all the remaining people who remember this chan are more interested in moping about their priviliged lives than actually talking about interesting stuff

>>2838I don't know how to feel then, about an anon in neo /n/ saying he has depression because his girlfiend dumped him and he's miserable because he feels oh so lonely.
First world problems, humans need problems, if they don't have them, they just find them, and then they post them in their personal blog ubuu.

I’ve been meaning to create a similar thread for new boards suggestions but well, I was lazy and indecisive. Thank you for doing what I didn’t.
Back before the recent board change I wondered about this, about what could be added to uboachan that felt inside the site’s context and incentive users to be active. All the ideas I came up with are probably quite stupid, but I’ll post them anyway, at least the ones that I still remember.
An RPGmaker or indie games development specific board. This is something that I felt lacking when I first came to uboachan. Here is a chan all around an indie game made in rpgmaker, but there is no board specific to the development of indie games made in rpgmaker. It felt contradictory. If just Rpgmaker engine is a bit limiting, it could always be about general game development independently of its engine. We have /fg/ for game development, but it has to be a yume nikki fangame so, very little of game development can be posted there. We also have /og/, but this board is for discussion of games in general, so it can be a bit confusing and intimidating to post about development there, and the range of subjects that can be posted there is so broad that it doesn’t give much incentive for people developing games to post there. Though an interest for a board like this might just be mine, and there might be people hating me for just suggesting it. I’m not sure on this one.
A self-talk/egocentric board. I noticed that one of the most common conversation subjects in here is people talking about themselves. It is not about their interests or experiences, but about things about them or related to them. Threads like this used to be really common on old /n/. Maybe with the change users may need another place where to leave their introspections, without some of the rules of /hikki/ or the mess of topics in /ot/. The problem with this is that it has a high risk of becoming just like the disorganization in old /n/. A difference is it wouldn’t segregate the users like old /n/ did. Talking about your interests or experiences wouldn’t be allowed, except if your discourse somehow closely connected them to yourself, as this board would be more about whining, ranting, and anything about your life or thoughts that you felt like leaving there. Or maybe you could talk about your life experiences. I'm also not sure about this idea, don’t know if something like it would be redundant.
These are the only ones I can remember now. I’m very sorry for their awfulness. Feel free to ignore them.

>>2842Not bad, since we do have some people making games here, but I'm afraid the gamedev board would end more like some in-development projects that will never be released thread(x20)
I encourage people to show their projects to the internet when they have at least 50% of the product finished, but anyone can make a game nowdays, and most people are retards.

>>2842I'd actually very much make use of a game dev board for things like specific questions on how to make various events a reality. It'd be better if it wasn't just limited to rpgmaker, but would need something to make sure it doesn't just turn into a programming general board.

>>2842We used to have a software development board, but nobody cared about it so it died. However, now that RPGMaker / indie discussion seems to be picking up again, maybe a board like you suggested with a more specific topic regarding RPGMaker and Indie game development would be appropriate.
The echo chamber board is a bit of a murkier idea imo, I'll see what other people think about it.

This means that /mono/, /seccom/, /uboa/, /t/, etc. are dead (with the exception of /warc/ and all the other annexed boards).
/comp/ is also dead.

>>2858Ehh, this is why we announced in advance and then asked for comments twice before doing the board restructuring. :(
Often people with alternative opinions don't speak up until way later unfortunately, so it's kinda late to do anything about it now. If you really think some of those boards should be revived then make an argument for it in /sugg/.

No.2888
>>2886We removed /h/. It was kind of a dump. (pun intended.) Original nsfw artwork or discussions involving nsfw artwork are allowed in /o/, and for everything else, there's everywhere else.
As you'll notice in the rules, nsfw content is actually allowed sitewide (with some exceptions.) Although not explicitly required, it's courteous to spoiler nsfw images when posting.
Basically, some of the content in /h/ seemed a little risky, and I didn't want to deal with it from an administrative standpoint. One time we received a notice that our entire site would be banned in all of Russia if a certain image wasn't removed. Stuff like that can happen. Also, drawn lolicon images remain a legal grey-area in the United States. As long as it's not congregating in one board it's not such a problem.
If you're reeeeeally missing something, I have backups of /h/ before it was removed.

>>2888Thanks, I checked the rules (2, 3, & 11) on the site, so that shouldn't be a problem either.
/h/ wasn't annexed but merged into /o/, I think.
There are some 'hidden' boards within the site, like the 'corey' board… I spoke to Presul about this before he retired ;)
