The default theme is an approximate copy of the old Uboachan theme. It's called Uboachan Classic.
The Yotsuba and Yotsuba B themes are easier on the eyes for some people. Color schemes can also look different on different monitors.
If you change themes Uboachan should remember your choice until you clear your cookies.

I mean yes, it's more viewable on some monitors than others I'm not going to say it's not, but it's still a terrible decision and you'll prove yourself to be incompetent with design if you do it that way.
It's never worked anyway and there have been complaints about it stretching back since the ubuu's inception. You cater to everyone with web design, not just do what works for yourself.
