There should be an option to disable the melting effect, or at least greatly increasing the time it takes for the snowflakes to melt.
I would totally be up for seeing how long it takes before my entire screen is filled, and how well I can browse the site in that state.

No.1721
>>1720Okay, I should've fixed what happened when I disabled snow. I'll give two explanations, although both will end up with "god damn it, Seisatsu";
The easy one: The problem was caused by a simple file permission issue that I couldn't see because my shitty ftp access doesn't show me who owns what files. I fixed it by switching to the old file and doing another edit to disable snow. Blame Seisatsu for giving me shitty tools to help manage the site with.
The more complicated one: News.html is chowned to a certain owner that I couldn't see due to ftp only showing chmod permissions, not owner:group permissions. Because news.html was owned by a different person and group, I couldn't directly edit it. So I decided if I made a copy, it should preserve the owner/group (this has been the case for me before, although I used sftp over ssh). I'd add my edits in, reupload and swap the filenames. Obviously, that was incorrect and ftp is shit, and I need actual shell access if I'm going to do anything and be able to do it properly.
Either way, sorry about the issues I caused. If any persist, feel free to post in here or shoot me a PM on IRC.

No.2157
>>2153No.
1) I would have to write a snow script from scratch to use canvas. I can't simply convert a script that uses moving divs.
2) I think that covering the entire page from left to right, top to bottom in a canvas would probably be slower and more resource intensive than the current method, and might cause weird bugs on some browsers.
3) The whole thing is a joke anyway, why bother?

Hey friend, I've been following that saga too and am more than excited to see your post. But like, put it in the thread where the spammer is posting please or some other inconsequential thread. The snow thread is pretty sacred to the culture here and I don't really want this topic on this thread and hope others feel the same.
On that note, Sei or mods if you agree please move the post I'm replying to and this one somewhere else. No need to delete of course. Nothing wrong with the post itself.
