/rec/ - Ex-NEET / Recovery

Piano practice has begun. The instructor is excellent. From this point I am committed, and I have to take the daily practice seriously and not allow myself to burn out. I chose something I have always wanted from the bottom of my heart, but had been putting off until now; to give up would be a stinging betrayal of myself from which I could not recover. So I leave myself no escape, I outsmart my brain in this way to force discipline upon it, I have my own self cornered.

I am a very stubborn person, skilled in making excuses and getting out of hard work and comforting myself in my quiescense. I think in the end this might be the only way for me to achieve discipline so I can follow the rest of my dreams. It is the only thing I can be instructed in that I really want badly enough to genuinely fear abandoning it. So, the piano I have always wished to play will be the key to the rest of my life.
