Princess Peach was sitting in front of her vanity brushing her gloriously golden hair. No matter how hard she tried or how many times she tried it, she can't seem to get those curls down. However, everyone in the Mushroom Kingdom thought she was beautiful nonetheless.

As she put her hairbrush down, she rested her head on her arms and began contemplating her life so far. Everyone saw her as a perfect (despite how many kidnappings she was subject to), beautiful, and kindhearted princess who was sweet to everyone she met, but deep down, she was just like any other woman; constantly facing turmoil over what she wants in life. All the work she had to go through to keep the Kingdom maintained was exhausting; from the different living situations of her citizens to what should be built and where. On top of that, she knew she would have to get married someday to keep her lineage alive for generations to come. Of course there's only one man this princess would choose to be her spouse, but the question is: does he feel the same way?

Peach picks up a picture from on top of her dresser. This picture was of Peach herself as a baby, being held in her father's arms. She then looks up at a tall mirror on the wall in front of her. The princess was in slight disbelief that the gorgeous woman she was staring at was the same as the adorable baby in the picture.

She puts her hand to her one of her breasts and mutters to herself, "Girls really do grow, don't they?" Peach suddenly gets an idea. She goes over to her desk, grabs a piece of paper, and begins writing…

The next day, Mario was in Peach's Castle, making his way up to the princess' bedroom. Earlier that day, he had received a letter from her asking for his presence. Once he arrives at the bedroom, he knocks on the door.

Peach opens the door and says cheerfully, "Mario, thanks for coming!"

"Sure thing," Mario replied as he entered the princess' bedroom. "So what did you need to see me for?"

"There's just a few things I wanted to get off my chest and I wasn't sure who else to turn to," Peach replied, closing the door behind her. "I'll just get straight to the point. Be honest with me: how do exactly you see me?"

"Where is this going, Peach?" Mario asked.

Tears start forming in Peach's eyes. "Everyone sees me as this flawless and beautiful princess who likes to make everyone happy. But let's face it; I'm a mess. It's so hard and tiring to please everyone. In addition, constantly being kidnapped by a giant dragon-looking turtle is never fun. He always finds a way to kidnap me no matter how much we raise our defenses and surely it can't be easy for you to constantly put whatever you're doing down just to save me."

"Well, that's not how I see you," Mario said, making Peach stop crying. "Sure, you're beautiful, kind, and sweet, but I can't imagine how much distress so many kidnappings can cause a woman. But I admire that despite your… internal hardships, you still move forward with a smile. Besides, I don't rescue you because it's my job. I rescue you because I've grown to… love you. Throughout all this time, you've never lost faith in me, and I never stopped believing in you either." Peach was touched by what she just heard.

"Thank you," the princess replied. "I knew you you would say that, but I just wanted to be sure it's actually what you would say. …Um… would it be okay if I tested to see how much you really love me?"
