my most reoccurring dreams are of having a ticket to a show but I wake up too late and have to rush to get over there. then it's always in a non-existent venue that is sometimes an old classroom from a school I went to. or I play a video game I've had all my life and discover a hidden world no one ever knew about. another reoccurring dreams is going to a con, but it's in a giant mall with movie theater for some reason. I've only been to 3 cons before but that's a dreamlike environment to be in. it brings to mind the various world cultures where spirits return to earth for a day or beliefs in various apparitions visiting town. modern man is out of touch with those things and thinks them frivolous and outdated but like you said it's still in the back of our minds. living ethereally is basically looking at the world through the eyes of a child, where everything is a novel experience and everything is larger than life.

this can become a lifestyle mindset I think. it could start with some self care including mental mindfulness, hygeine, and health consciousness, and then be furthered by genuinely cultivating hobbies or interestests, and eventually personality through personal taste which will naturally begin to reflect on the outside through living your most honest self. activities or interests that are be niche or lost to the greater world could probably take you closer to "ethereal" than people can tend to be. you'd definitely be otherworldly to more people this way at least.
