>>17476>In my opinion, Cyberpunk is just a marketing term attached to futuristic looking stuff so people buy it.I think that's what it has become, but that's not what it was or what it should be. Cyberpunk died when people started fetishizing dystopia. People do understand that cyberpunk is supposed to be a resistance movement, right? Now people are basically welcoming economic disparity and invasive surveillance with open arms.

I wish Dramatical Murder wasn't a BL game. I don't mind BL myself but it turns off most people automatically and only attracts fujos and that kind of people.
The setting and over all aesthetic is something I love, not to mention the MC isn't "hax0r". I typically get bothered by the programmer mc thing. The characters are fun and enjoyable but the world really takes the cake in what makes it so good. Nitro+ being the developers helps because that means the production value is high for a VN. The OST is also fantastic and recommend anyone listen to it separately.
I rec it to anyone interested in a cyberpunk series that's not the typical feel but still very dystopian. It has some good philosophical moments that I was not expecting. Beware that there's a lot of bondage/rape/bestiality in there. One of the bad endings is the Aoba being amputated and chained to be with another character for ever. So if you don't want to see gay dudes fuck and rape each other.

Cyberpunk is meta. Cyberpunk is already here.

>>17472"Anything that can be done to a rat can be done to a human being."
As technology progresses that quote only becomes more and more horrifying. I am not looking forward to the future.
No.17529
>>17528You really don't need to go that far into the future to find hell… have you ever seen any gore thread? The human body is extremely fragile, and you don't really require sophisticated technology to harm or destroy it, just like a rat. And that thing happens in the real world, in this age, right now; and has been happening ever since who-knows-when. But just because we discovered metals it doesn't mean they are bad; after all we're enjoying our lives thanks to that discovery and the benefits that came with it, even if a knife can behead a man and bullets kill thousand of people. However, the same metal gave us protection in the form of armors in the past, and different materials work against bullets now too. It's all about who uses what in what way. So I wouldn't worry about technology, I'd worry about who possesses that technology and how we can defend against it's potential threats, just as we dealt with metal weapons with engineering against them.

Am I the only glad that we'll have a high degree of mastery over the human body and technology? In so much media and stories, it's painted in a fearful light, am I the only one anticipating the future with happiness?
No.17540
>>17539The problem is that the only source of information for those who are not involved in these fields is basically hollywood and other futuristic dystopian movies where "technology is the great evil".
Just because vaccines exist now, birth-rate has increased. In the past, families had to bear about 5, 6 or 7 children because only half or less of them would reach adulthood. That problem has been eradicated, thanks to the advance of technology. Now, we are able to make brain cells from the skin, making regeneration a solid prospect for the future. Maybe a lot of problems that are common now will also be eradicated, yet people only seem to believe on the idea that the government will be authoritarian and use technology against their people. And that's politics, my friend. Communism is just socialism with electricity, just because Stalin had access to AC electricity it doesn't mean that the rest of the world was also under an authoritarian government and used that technology to abuse their people.
