Waaaaaay too many to choose from, so I will probably post in this thread sometime again when I think of others I really like the post.
"We are going to become Gods, period. {Through advancing technology.} If you don’t like it, get off. You don’t have to contribute, you don’t have to participate, but if you are going to interfere with me becoming a God, you’re going to have trouble. There’ll be warfare." -Richard Seed- TechnoCalyps – Part II – Preparing for the Singularity (2008-11-14)
He was pushing to try and clone himself before human cloning was made illegal and even work on human genetic engineering, doing this through a fertility clinic that him and his brother owned. He's basically a super villain, not only is his motive and approach behind it very super villainy, and his last name "Seed" even lines up perfectly with what he's trying to do, he also looks like a Bond villain. He is dead now and his attempts to clone himself all failed… Or so they say… I believe the clone of Richard Seed is out there somewhere.

Here are some of my favorites from books and tv shows and stuff, but my favorite quotes often come from the people I've met in life. Those are usually the ones that stick with me the most.
"I'd rather have bad times with you, than good times with someone else/ I'd rather be beside you in a storm than safe and warm by myself. I'd rather have hard times together, than to have it easy apart. I'd rather have the one who holds my heart."
"We need to find our own inspiration. Sometimes, it's not easy."
"I've decided to make myself strong. As far as I can tell, that's all I can do."
"I finally get a bouquet and it's a goodbye present. That's depressing."
"Okay, so he doesn't like me like me. But he does like me. And that means I'm halfway there."
"'Why do you always have to look on the bright side?'
'Somebody has to.'"
"Holding this soft, small living creature in my lap this way, though, and seeing how it slept with complete trust in me, I felt a warm rush in my chest. I put my hand on the cat's chest and felt his heart beating. The pulse was faint and fast, but his heart, like mine, was ticking off the time allotted to his small body with all the restless earnestness of my own."

It doesn't matter if your chains are made of silver or gold.
If you don't want to free yourself, they could also been made of paper.

>>14180The virtue of life IS struggle, though. It IS just as simple as leaving your mark, creating offspring to carry on your blood, tussling blindly and furiously with entropy and futility. To seek self-satisfaction and the gratification of the ego is a defining characteristic of intelligent life, and it isn't a bad thing.
This reminds me of why I thought the ending of Texhnolyze was such a letdown.

And now so as not to derail it too much, have a very, very /n/ quote:
“The worst part is wondering how you’ll find the strength tomorrow
to go on doing what you did today and have been doing for much
too long, where you’ll find the strength for all that stupid running around, those projects that come to nothing, those attempts to escape from crushing necessity, which always founder and serve only to convince you one more time that destiny is implacable, that every night will find you down and out, crushed by the dread of more and more sordid and insecure tomorrows. And maybe it’s treacherous old age coming on, threatening the worst. Not much music left inside us for life to dance to. Our youth has gone to the ends of the earth to die in the silence of the truth. And where, I ask you, can a man escape to, when he hasn’t enough madness left inside him? The truth is an endless death agony. The truth is death. You have to choose: death or lies. I’ve never been able to kill myself.”

>>14645>tussling blindly and furiously with entropy and futility>entropyAre you against measuring the way different matter states in a thermodynamic system try to reach equilibrium?
Why do you oppress mass? What did the second and third law of thermodynamics ever did to you? You… you heartless monster.

>>14650>>14649On the one hand I kind of wish I used different wording because I think I have a valid point. Self-satisfaction and doing your best to spit in the face of futility is a totally valid reason for being and for wanting to leave something behind. It's actually a beautiful reason.
On the other hand it's fucking /ot/ and that made me laugh.
Kinetic force killed Lincoln y'know, physics is a bastard.
I mean fuck, there's such a thing as explosive decompression.
Explosive decompression!? Fucking nature is a terrorist.

These were my candidates for my senior quote. I picked the first one
"The most dangerous way to lose time is not to spend it having fun, but to spend it doing fake work" - Paul Graham
"The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown." – H. P. Lovecraft
"Time's Up. Let's do this." - Leeroy Jenkins
"Aut Viam Inveniam Aut Faciam" "I shall either find a way or make one"
"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects." - Robert A. Heinlein
"Problems cannot be solved by the same level of thinking that created them." - Albert Einstein
"Ball so hard" - Austin Do
"The more you sweat in times of peace, the less you bleed in war."

>>15793Did you pick that one because of the meaning intended on the original essay or because of some other way of viewing it? Either way, nice pick.
>>14226The last one looks to be from a good novel. Never thought about that situation in such emotional lens.
