Happy Holidays!
Uboachan Dream World MUD is back up. The issue stems from DennisMUD not being able to update its SSL cert without being restarted manually. A fix will be investigated, see GitHub Issue #115.

The following is a list of games I came across by looking around Nicovideo, which are as of yet untranslated. If nobody else will translate them, I will, one-by-one, translate them myself. Do note that since I am regularly busy with other things, that progress will be slow, and I would definitely like some help on how to modify these games to make an English version (I only know about DreaMaker so far, which does not help with translating menu options).

Boy Ichiro's Modesty (いちろ少年忌憚, Ichiro Shounen Kitan)
Paranormal Syndrome (怪異症候群, Kaii Shoukougun)
Sacrifice/Substitute Girl (身代わり少女, Migawari Shoujo)
Infection Nightmare (感染性ナイトメア, Kansensei Nightmare)
Beautiful Ballad (明美譚, Akemi Tan)
Neko Maguro (猫鮪) [Note: named after a well-known let's player on Nicovideo)
Oni Play (オニアソビ, Oni Asobi)
Utahoho Curse (哥欲祟, Utahono Tatari)
It Is Right There (そこにいる, Soko ni Iru)
Rumors of Mr. Kitchen Knife (包丁さんのうわさ, Houchou-san no Uwasa) [A text-reading game]
Memory Girl (記憶少女, Kioku Shoujo)
Forest of Animals (どうぶつ達の森, Doubutsu-tachi no Mori)
Save Meee (スクッテー, Sukuttee)
Red World (赤の世界, Aka no Sekai)
White Curse (シロノノロイ, Shiro no Noroi)
Seventh Night (オシチヤ, Oshichiya)
Lost House (マヨヒガ, Mayohiga)
Haunted House Exploration Team (おばけ屋敷探検隊, Obake Yashiki Tankentai)
Black Labo
Possibility (カノウセイ, Kanousei)
Devil Plug-in

Nobita's Biohazard (のび太のBiohazard, Nobita no Biohazard)

My impression on the games I have played so far:

Boy Ichiro's Modesty: I have nothing special to say about this one, so I am a bit mystified about why it gained such popularity on Nicovideo. Well, concerning the story anyways, since a lot of it seems quite cliche. But I would be lying if I said that I was never scared while playing the game, so I guess it has a few good points.
Paranormal Syndrome: I only played through the first 2 chapters so far, but I already quite like this game. It is a Clock Tower-like game, and I think that something that makes this interesting is how it has multiple chapters. Generally I didn't really feel all that scared much, and if there is one reason why, it's because it's generally almost too easy to run away from the enemies chasing you. Especially the bear in the first chapter.

One thing I do like about Paranormal Syndrome is how you can learn much about Japanese urban legends and other things like that. The first chapter concerns "Hitori Kakurenbo" (or "One-man Hide-and-seek") and the second one concerns "Kunekune."

Despite not being all that impressed by Boy Ichiro's Modesty, I have translated over half of the dialogue of the game so far. Here is my progress so far:

In summary: I am pretty confident in my ability to translate them quickly, but for modifying the games to implement these translations, any help could be appreciated.

I like your idea, OP. I would help if those were on RM2K3, but since my internet is a cunt I don't know if I would be even able to download them, or how much of those are for RM2K3 (if there's any).

Anyway, I'm monitoring this thread.

I believe that Boy Ichiro's Modesty and Paranormal Syndrome are both RPG Maker 2000.

Good luck OP, I'm not sure how difficult it'll be to work the translations into the game but I'll be watching this thread and will try to help myself if no one better experienced comes along.

The main difficulty with Boy Ichiro's Modesty is the opening scene where he does the "table turning" because I would have to turn the kana into roman letters, and re-write the coin path to spell out the words in English.

Other than that, only the menu options would be what require direct modification in RPG Maker 2000. The rest can easily be done in DreaMaker.

As for Paranormal Syndrome, other than the dialogue, there really isn't anything outside the menus that require translating, so this one should be an easy one.

I already like Paranormal Syndrome so much and it seems really popular that I'm wondering if I should start to try translating this one instead, and save Boy Ichiro's Modesty for second. Well, I'll get both done eventually.

I wish I could help but this is not an area I am familiar with. I wish you the best of luck though OP, Paranormal Syndrome looks really interesting.

I can help you… I translate RPG Maker Games and Wolf, but I never translate one to English, because I don't speak english veeeery god.

家庭科室の熱子さん バーナーで焼かれて美味しそう

Atsuko from Home Ec is cooking something delicious on the burner.

Not sure what happened here, but you translated that she was burnt something, but the Japanese says she was cooking something, not burning something.

八十上学園七不思議 触らぬ神に祟り無し
七不思議がやってくる あなたを殺しにやってくる

The Seven Wonders of Yasokami Academy; best to live and let live.
For if you try the Seven Wonders, they will take your life.

You translated this as "no curse to an untouched god", however, this is actually a Japanese phrase meaning "Let sleeping dogs lie" or "If it isn't broken, don't fix it". Meaning that it's best to let such things be and not get involved in the Seven Wonders.

Also, I noticed that you translated 開けない as a choice as "It doesn't open." I can actually understand how it may be misread this way, but as it's a choice, it's best to translate it as "Leave it alone" or "Don't open it" etc, as you're making a choice to not open the door, not that the door 'doesn't open'.

I interpreted this as not saying that Netsuko/Atsuko was cooking/burning something, but rather, as being cooked/burnt. As in, some girl named Netsuko/Atsuko was put in the burner and cooked.

Having played through the entire game and read all the explanations about the "Seven Wonders/Mysteries," the reason why I interpreted it like that is because when Kiyomaru explained it, it is as following:

In the past… at this school,
There was a terrible bullying that went on.
The one who was bullied, was a short, shy girl.
One day after school, the bullies
called her to the home economics room…
Where they burnt her to death in the burner.
It was said that from then on,
the girl in the home economics room, festered with burn wounds…
would grasp tightly onto the burner
and come attacking.
This is the story of Netusko/Atsuko,
one of the Seven Mysteries/Wonders

I'd really like if you'd do Paranormal Syndrome!

I've seen a playthrough of Devil Plug-in. seemed rather short.

a few other untranslated games I've seen are Moonlight Labyrinth and Kisei Joker, which seem to be somewhat popular despite the fact that official distributions ceased in 2008 for some reason (and that KJ is more-or-less Resident Evil in RM2K)

Comment on progress so far… not very far since I last posted here. I've been busy doing other translation so far… and stuff. I also made a mistake in the title of 明美譚… which really is probably more appropriately called "Akemi Tan" rather than Beautiful Ballad, since it appears to be more of a name than what it literally says.

Most of the remaining portions to be translated for Boy Ichiro's Modesty come from the long explanations of what the "Seven Mysteries" are, but even after I translate all the dialogue, I wouldn't know a lot about translating the menu options etc.

changing menu options should be easy enough using even a trial version of RPG Maker

Just a note that I have not forgotten about this.

Maybe to motivate myself, I could post individual translation txt files as I go along. The name of the tool I am using is

Here it is for Paranormal Syndrome, the first three maps:
Map 1 http://pastebin.com/A2Cd5Lvk
Map 2 http://pastebin.com/tH2Ayvut
Map 3 http://pastebin.com/A7NSbMh0
Map 4 http://pastebin.com/VbX9QjjB

Unexpectedly, I was able to translate the entire Chapter 1 of Paranormal Syndrome rather fast… when I got to it.

Main thing to look for here is if I made any typos.

Thank you for all your hard work! I only spot a typo for "blood" in your 4th pastebin link there

>Put in your nail, or blod in the stuffed animal,

It should be corrected in the partially patched version on dropbox.

Great work, thank you so much, it is running smoothly :)! Would it be okay if I do a playthrough of the first chapter on Youtube?

Yes, that should be fine. Be aware that the patch has now been updated so that it's now translated up to Chapter 2. I think I'll get chapter 3 done in a day or two.

I've updated the patch yet again to correct some minor things (like adding "one-man hide and seek" beside "hitori kakurenbo," grammar, and pauses in the text), just a few minutes ago, so try re-downloading the patch if you've already downloaded it before.

Additionally, chapter 3 is mostly translated now… I just have to proofread it and translate the items and descriptions of the items next.

It's the same link as before. It is now fully translated all the way to chapter 3. Now only one chapter left.

So far, I'm posting pretty much the same things as over there, but I am posting updates on tumblr: http://tosiaki7.tumblr.com/

Great, I am following you on Tumblr :3.
I'll start with the playthrough as soon as one of my current projects is finished =D. Thank you so much ^_^!

Alright, I've finally finished translating this! Although I haven't figured out how to modify .xyz files so the image files are unmodified even though one screen needs translation. This is at the very last part of the game, and you simply need to know that Z is confirm, X is delete, direction keys for arrows, and Shift for S.

Mediafire link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/rm0b9f0gelyi65l/Paranormal%20Syndrome.zip

Thank you so much! The chase sequences get increasingly nerve wrecking as the chapters go on, lol

Alright, just today I played "Forest of Animals" (どうぶつ達の森). I actually quite like this game, even though it is quite short, and isn't all that scary for a horror game. I think I'll translate this next.

You sir is a scholar and a gentleman

File: 1385364416542.png (50.47 KB, 716x528, leet.png)

>Although I haven't figured out how to modify .xyz files

>open any RPGmaker game you have, or create a new project, doesn't matter

>drop the those files you want to edit in any folder (sprites, pictures, panorama, whatever)
>go to "import and export resources" in the RPG maker engine
>search for your pic
>mark "PNG image"
>go to the directory (\path\sprites, pictures, panorama)
>now that .xyz file has a copy that is a .png
>edit said .png
>repeat, but now mark "XYZ image" with your new edited file so you change the .png into a .xyz again

And there you have it. You can thank me later.

How come
translates as 117?
That moment kicked my ass for about hour and half, so what's the solution? Don't know maybe I missed something.

It is because RPG_Maker_Trans didn't handle the item names and descriptions very well, forcing me to substitute numbers for them to figure out what they were, and translate them later. I suppose that this worked in all cases except for where the item you get can differ depending on chance… and the Blood-stained memo was probably one of them.

One of the possible descriptions for the memo are:
The numbers "6730" are written faintly on it.

I suppose that this description can differ depending on some random number, so I'll guess I'll have to play through this several times in order to get all the possibilities. But, I wasn't aware of this before you alerted me to it (I thought that there was only one possible key to it), so thanks for telling me that.

I have fixed the issue concerning item description 117 (i. e. I have updated the dropbox and mediafire files, still at the same link though), but there are still some item descriptions left as numbers, namely 3, 115, 116, and 118.

I tried getting the blood-stained memo again to see if I would get a different description than the ones that read 3824 or 6730… but it seems like whatever random number it generates, generates it much before I pick it up. It might be difficult to try to see all the possibilities by just doing this. Just for now, please alert me if any item gets a description of 3, 115, 116, or 118 because they are still left as numbers.

Alright, I went into RPG Maker itself to look, and it turns out that this is one aspect where a random number of 0, 1, or 2 tripped me up. Since I used RPG Maker this time, perhaps I might even work without turning the locale ot Japanese.

New download links:

Forest of Animals seems to be a somewhat simpler game, but after I finished it, I think I really liked it, which is why I worked to translate this one fast.

Although I was planning on translating Akemi Tan next, I accidentally stumbled upon this AMAZING game called 霧雨が降る森. I can't wait to get this one translated.

A bit of a spoiler, but the story for this game game makes a very quick to turn something far more disturbing than Misao and Mad Father…

Estimates on how long it will take for me to translate "Forest of Drizzling Rain":

Not nearly as long as it took me to translate Paranormal Syndrome. This is because it has about half as many maps, and thus has about half as much dialogue… I'll try to get this one done within a week as well.

Thank you! So fast, I can't wait to play.

Hello! I was sent here to ask questions I have about games and such… *ahem* So, I am attempting to play Paranormal Syndrome (among a few other games). I have downloaded the Japanese RPG Maker 2000 RTP, but I can't install it. It will not allow me to complete install for it. I have changed my locale to Japanese. After I did this, I cannot even get TO an installation for the RTP nor will the games work. I would LOVE to get some sort of feed back as soon as possible. Thank you!

That is quite curious. Maybe it is no good if you haven't already set your locale to Japanese BEFORE you download the RTP. What happens when you download the Japanese RTP, and unzip it while in Japanese locale?

File: 1386381527395.png (102.52 KB, 577x579, tumblr_lxkcst3Tl61qezccho1….png)

Okay, I set my locale to Japanese and re-downloaded it. uvu It installed just fine~. Thank you so much! ovo Here is a big smile to you~!

Thank you for translating Paranormal Syndrome, I really wanted to play it!I already had my locale set to Japanese and the RTP downloaded, but the game doesn't work, does anyone know how to fix it?

I had my local set to Jp and downloaded the RTP, but it doesn't seem to install correctly. Any help?

Have you tried downloading it again after setting your locale to Japanese?

I had already set it to Jp before downloading it. And yes, I rebooted it as well.

Did you also download the game again after setting the locale to Japanese?

Ah, now it's working. Many thanks!

Forest of Drizzling Rain translation:

I will probably still proofread it over some more after this due to the possibility of typos or awkward wording in some parts, but nothing major, probably.

thank you very much tosiaki! you are becoming one of the hopes of this community!

Since .zip seems to have terrible compatibility with non-ascii file names for different locales, I've made a .rar too:

After making a few fixes to the translation, I deleted the file and re-uploaded it, so now the download link has changed:

I've started playing Parasitic Joker (寄生ジョーカー, Kisei Joker) and I must say, I do quite like it, although it is quite frustrating with all these events you have to get to and the need to carefully plan your movements, as well as boss battles that actually do require some skill in order to beat. I would like to translate this and Moonlight Labyrinth eventually, but some later, though, since these would definitely take quite a while.

The other thing I'd also look into is Charon's series of games (Mikoto Nikki, etc.). These are quite short games and wouldn't be much of a problem to translate them, and I did like the concept of Mikoto Nikki. However, I would also like to put these off for later as well.

As of right now, I would like to look into Possibility (カノウセイ, Kanousei) as well as the Akemi Tan that someone has kept on asking me about.

Thank you!!! We look forward to your advances!!

is it alrigjt if you provided a dropbox for "forest of animals" as well? my computer won't allow me to download things via mediafire. Thanks

I just downloaded it, and for some reason when I try to run it, I get a weird error in Japanese saying something about the title…?
-something-/graphics/title/タイトル2 -somethingsomething-

Replaced the japanese I couldn't copy/paste with something, lol.

If you press ctrl+a and then ctrl+c it copies the error and you don't have to exercise your knowledge of kanji and kana.

Forest of Animals
ファイル Graphics/Titles/タイトル2 が見つかりません。

Thanks for the tip, this is what pops up. Have no clue why it's doing that, the image is in the folder and everything.

Kay googled the text I couldn't read, and it supposedly says that the file can't be found, yet it's right there in the folder with the same name and everything. No clue what's going one.

I'll try to fix it tomorrow, going to bed now. If someone finds out how to fix this, please respond, will check this again in the morning.

I have no idea either. I was able to intentionally create the error by renaming Graphics/Titles/タイトル2.jpg to something like タイトル3.jpg, but when I renamed it back to タイトル2.jpg, it worked normally again. Are you sure it's not named something like タイトル2.jpg? This is because "2" and "2" are different.

I'm having the same problem as the other poster. Maybe you could up it as a .rar since it's having problems retaining the file names.

Yes, it is now uploaded as a .rar
Does it work now?

The current Forest of Animals file doesn't seem to be working. The files in audio and graphics are completely empty and I get an error like:
Forest of Animals
RGSS102E.dll could not be found.

every time I try to start the game.

Kaii Syndrome gave me an error: DirectDraw Error (DDERR_UNSUPPORTED), can you help me? note: I set the locale of my computer to japanese so i don't think this is why this gave me that error…

You didn't download and install the RPG Maker XP RTP yet.

That looks like your computer probably doesn't support low resolution. Try the solution here:

Oops, could of swore that I had that version already.

Well, now that I have it, I'm getting the error about タイトル2 like that other guy.

Try re-downloading it if you've downloaded it more than one day ago. It as a .zip before, and it is a .rar now and .rar does a better job of retaining file names.

thank you! now I can play Kaii Syndrome *v*

Thank you so much for translating these games.
Um, I'm kinda new to all these titles, are they all horror rpgs?

Yeah, I downloaded this just yesterday, so it was the .rar. I tried it again but it still says the files isn't there.

Hello! I was wondering if I could translate Forest of Drizzling rain to spanish,I guess I need the autor’s permission, but I don’t know japanese,so could you ask him/her for me?,please,I really want to translate it,I find the game so good and want to make it go farther,so please….

I'd actually be somewhat reluctant to ask, so the only thing I can say is, "as long as the author doesn't know about it"

you did not asked him/her for translating it to english? anyways,I'll just translate it and put it in tumblr

No solution yet?

Oh right, I somehow skipped over your post and didn't notice it.

Could you perhaps provide a screenshot of your /Graphics/Titles and /Graphics/Pictures folders, just so I can confirm what's in there?

File: 1387174243786.png (188.3 KB, 855x597, Graphics - Pictures.PNG)

Sure, no problem. This is what is in the pictures folder….

File: 1387174332123.png (61.46 KB, 858x598, Graphics - Titles.PNG)

…and this is what is in titles.

First of all, I wonder why that folder is called "Forest of Animals Data"

Shouldn't it be simply "Data"? Does it work if you rename it "Data"?

I renamed it that because I usually just make a shortcut to the game and put it elsewhere. I tried naming it to data, but that didn't do anything.

I'm not sure what you did to the folders and files, but what if you re-extract it from the .rar again and just simply run the Game.exe as-is?

Didn't touch the files aside from renaming the folder. Oh well, I just redownloaded the .rar and I didn't touch anything and went straight to the game, but same error.

A screenshot of the error too?

File: 1387177186025.png (10.79 KB, 656x524, Error.PNG)

Alright. I'm quite mystified. I do wonder if this might work: if you could try setting your computer's locale to Japanese, if it would work then. To set your computer's locale, you go into the region and locations setting, and go into the last tab, and then you can change your locale there. (You'll need to restart your computer once). I've been operating under the Japanese locale all this time, so I do wonder if you really need to (I didn't think so before this).

Yup, that did the trick. Weirdly enough, running the game through AppLocale doesn't either, but changing the system's Locale got it to run for me.

I guess that to avoid this, maybe some things can be fixed through renaming all the files to avoid using non-ascii characters… I'll try doing that eventually.

(Regarding >>3136)
I mean, through RPG Maker when I translate, of course.

1. what is boy ichiro's modesty and help meeee about 2. how is akemi tan trans going 3. your review/ recomendation and thoughts of/on akemi tan since you played it already?

what is boy ichiro's modesty and help meee about

Yes, I recommend Akemi Tan. I will get it translated before tomorrow. I don't really know much about what Save Meee is about other than that it was the game that preceded Akemi Tan. Boy Ichiro's Modesty is about seven curses that inflict a school.

File: 1387579935024.gif (23.06 KB, 320x240, title.gif)

Thank you very much for translating Hi!

I would like to thank you for picking "Ichiro boy Frank"(いちろ少年忌憚). For those who don't know much about the game, you can find it's site and let's play below.

Looking forward to your translation!!

Okay, Akemi Tan:

Save Meee (Sukuttee) is being translated by someone else, so I think I'd like to work on either Oni Play (Oni Asobi) or possibly Butsunen Sekai… or White Curse (Shiro no Noroi), which I've actually been looking forward to for some time.

Psssst. Lilitea, the creator of Butsunen Sekai, doesn't want any translations of her games. Period.

Just thought you should, you know, know before you started.

I guess that it'll be done… only under the name "Anonymous," then.

Meaning, if that game were ever to be translated… I'd probably not even post on Uboachan about it. (It might appear on another bulletin board, though…)

Alright, I've decided. It's going to be White Curse (シロノノロイ, Shiro no Noroi) next.

Are there any chances of translating "Ichiro boy Frank"(いちろ少年忌憚) in some time?

Yes, but only after translating this White Curse, as well as Oni Asobi too.

Thank you! Take your time :)

who is translating save meee

Someone by the name of vi1222

You said that someone else was translating Sukuttee? Could you link the information about that?

Though I initially called it "White Curse," though the course of the game, I realized that this was probably an improper translation of the title, so in the end, I'll just call it "Shiro no Noroi."

Next up… Boy Ichiro's Modesty.

Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this, but I played Forest of Animals, and for some reason I can't figure out how to get ending four. I went into the shed and got the diary scrap from the chest, but I'm still getting ending three. What did I do wrong?

You also need the other diary scrap from inside the Wolf Mansion… meaning… namely, the "twin rooms."

thank you very much!! looking forward to Boy Ichiro's Modesty!!!

I can't seem to find the key code in Paranormal Syndrome on the blood-stained memo. It only gives me 3 number which i have input and still incorrect

You should download the game again, because the first few translated versions had that item untranslated.

Also, you'll be able to move your save files to the newer version, so you don't have to replay the whole game again.

Playing Forest of Drizzling Rain

The game crashed twice, both with an error 103.
Once when I chose to use the lamp to block the door when Shiori ran away from the manager
The second when she picked up the glowing thing near the heavy lid and the manager burst in

Is this some sort of curse from the manager? :(

What does the error say?

I tried using the lamp on the door and I got no such error 103. Therefore, I have no idea what it could be. Maybe if you show a screenshot of the error, I might have a clue.

File: 1388658117702.png (46.18 KB, 689x464, Capture.PNG)

AS you guys can see…I cant start to play the game. I wanted to play the game. so help is appreciated..

I don't know what happened there, but you're definitely missing some files, so you should try re-downloading it and unrar-ing it again.

I'm at the last boss on Paranormal Syndrome and when I try pressing the S key it doesn't show up. I already tried downloading it again but nothing changed.

You should read the full tumblr post to see what button it is.

File: 1388806378590.png (110.83 KB, 644x513, asfahdtkkd.png)

problem with Blood of Akemi
can't see the character's sprite and the screen goes out of focus help plz

Nevermind, fixed it by changing computer's locale to japanese, although for forest of animals i still get the same problem as anon, even after switching the locale

Not sure what that could be for Forest of Animals since it runs fine on my computer… are you sure you downloaded and un-rared it after you set the locale to Japanese? Maybe downloading the Japanese RPG Maker XP RTP (found here: http://www.famitsu.com/freegame/rtp/xp_rtp.html) might help.

yes redownloading it worked after switching thank you!!!

File: 1388906506927.png (260.17 KB, 1366x768, Screenshot (32).png)

I downloaded Paranormal syndrome, changed my locale to Japanese and downloaded the rtp. Then I got the direct draw error and used the solution you mentioned above, but now it's giving me this error in Japanese and I have no idea what it means. Please help?

It seems one file is missing. Can't tell which one, though.

Try re-downloading it, changing your locale to japanese and only then un-raring it.

By the way, I'm not the person who is translating this so if this doesn't work just wait for his/her answer.

I searched around and it actually seems to be an issue with the RTP, since you are missing some files from the RTP. You should try re-downloading the Japanese RPG Maker 2000 RTP, unzipping, and installing it again (everything after setting your locale to Japanese).

The best way to deal with these things is first to reinstall the rtp.
But if you're feeling adventurous, the file that's missing in all these cases is the set in between ”ファイル” And ”は開けません”
Which translates in the end to: File ______ can not be opened.

Thanks for the help, it's working now!

Ah hello. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but, it seems that Akemi-tan's endgame has a lot of content cut off. It doesn't display the full ending, and cuts to credits right after Shimoko and Ebiko find "that character" beaten dead in front of the shrine. I'm not sure if it's just my game or if there was a problem with the coding, sorry to bother.

You have to play a second time to see the full ending. After you finish the game the first time, press "new game" again.

Alright, the very first one I ever started working on is also now done:

I'll definitely want to Oni Asobi next… it was certainly one of the ones I found really excellent.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

What is Oni Asobi about

Do you know of "Oni-hime-sama?"

Yeah, I know of it. It's an old legend told about in this town, right?

Yep yep. Once upon a time, when this place was still a village, to a certain farmer family, was born a girl with horns on her head. Because of those horns, that girl couldn't get along with anyone, and was always all alone. And then, on a certain year…… A bad illness assailed the people of the village, and caused a great number of people to suffer. The villagers blamed it on the girl, and ended up killing that girl as a mob. After that, incidents of children suddenly disappearing, a kind of "spiriting away," started to happen quite frequently. Surely, it was because the spirit of the lonely girl who was killed, abducts them out of a desire for friends. This kind of rumor started going around, starting from no one in particular……

There's a small shrine quite close to the school, right? That, you see…… actually seems to have been built in order to calm the spirit of that girl. But that girl, Oni-hime-sama's spirit has still
not gone to peace. Even now, from time to time, she attempts to take away people who go there……

hello, after translating it, a person had a problem with forest of the drizzling rain, since I can't find the problem, I wanted to know if you could help me, here is a screenshot of her problem.

I'm not sure what it is, but you can try making a new project and copying all the audio, data, etc. to the new project and see if it works then. Also, I'm pretty sure there was already a previous translation of this game into Spanish…?

eh? I think I was the first on translating it, however, I'll try, thanks for trying to help

Hello Tosiaki, will you translate this game?

Yes, I've also taken note of the games takutaku has played.

Alright, Oni Asobi done!

And now, next up, Mayohiga…

Just wanted to say good work to all the people translating all these games in this thread.

Also, if anyone would like to, feel free to throw the translated games you liked into the game share thread.

A wiki has been started in order to easily allow people to comment on and offer suggestions for particular parts of the translation. The pages are still under construction right now, but any assistance in creating them is appreciated.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask in, but I'll try.

I'm having trouble finding the casket moving event in Forest of Drizzling Rain, I really can't even find when I'm supposed to do it or how to trigger it, I just know it "has something to do with the room with tons of books at the end" I keep getting any end except the ones that involve performing the event.

Investigate everything in that room some more.

Man, I don't know what's up with your translation Forest of Animals, but it's definitely just the file names- I managed to make it past the title screen with just AppLocale after creating a copy of タイトル2.jpg and renaming it タイトル2.jpg, in both Titles folders (i.e.- ../Graphics/Titles/ and ../Data/Graphics/Titles/).

After that, it won't crash when calling up the 'scary dream' image, but it will crash whenever the Squirrel Sage tries to show you either diagram file, or when the game tries to call up the Game Over screens.

So, uh, I'm not sure what the rhyme or reason behind the difficulties is anymore.

It seems to work for many other people, so I think that it may have something to do with the way you downloaded/un-rared the file. Are you sure you have it in Japanese locale before you even downloaded and un-rared the games…?

Also thought I'd like to post some updates about progress.

Substitute Sacrifice Girl: http://www.mediafire.com/download/tvkq7q0zquz188i/migawari2.06.rar

And next up, Chloe's Requiem…

Tosiaki-san, I have a question about passing through the cat. I looked up your video and you can carry one mouse to lure the cat.

I do the same as you but I can't take the mouse

I also looked up your wiki, and read the translation. But in translated version, The mouse only say that he love danger, not mentioning anything about cat.

Need help and confirmation

You have to first approach the cat, within about 4-5 spaces away, before you can talk to the mouse to get the cat out of the way.

I'm certain that the extracting was done under the right locale.

I also never said the game didn't work when the Locale's set to Japan, I'm just saying I got the game to work for further screens with only AppLocale by simply switching a few of the files' names which made me suspect that they're the source of any troubles on that front.

It's really the only game that has any problems like these, so it's no big deal. I just thought it was interesting to note that switching the 2 for a 2 had any effect.

Well, they're different characters, so of course it'd get things mixed up. Though I wonder how it ended up being 2 in the first place. It was "2," not 2 in the original .rar. Maybe one downloaded from the dropbox source instead? That one hasn't been updated for some time. Though even then, it should have been a "2" instead of a "2", so that doesn't exactly explain anything either.

Me and my guys are translating the game "Ghost School". Don't know if this is the place to post about it.

Probably a very good place to post about it. This thread will probably serve a more useful purpose for people other than the OP who wish to announce their translation projects.

This community is the best community. ;_;

I'm guessing this translation group is 100% dead by now, isn't it? The main page is gone along with their Tumblr, and the latest post I could find in another site dated back to June of last year.
What a shame, I was really looking forward to several of the projects they were planning to release eventually.

Untranslated? Learn jap and translate it yourself!

i don't understand anyone who would do this for free. its simply such a timesink, that, unless you really, really like the thing you're translating and want more people to see it, comes with little to no reward.
like shit, even the big cheese who do it for free give donation links and shit like that.

Because it's their hobby? I myself like to translate a game and play it after that, because it feels really great when you make a thorough localization to your native language, and are able to experience it all again, but this time with 100% intuitively understanding everything in it. tl;dr I do this solely for my own comfort, nothing more.

But yeah, I also don't understand how can people translate games they don't feel anything to, or didn't even play them before.

Uboa seems like has a lot of people that are translating games, and also a lot of rpgmaker fans, then why the board has a section for scanlations, but doesn't have a section for games translations? Wouldn't it be convenient both for rpgmaker players to look for updates there, and for translators to upload and promote their projects instead of dropping them into threads, where they most likely will stay forgotten for years?

(I'm a newfag, so maybe such a section/board exists, and I'm just isn't aware of it).

Segawa, the developer of END ROLL, has released a new game titled "Tower of Hanoi." It can be downloaded here: https://www.freem.ne.jp/win/game/24302
I tried to capture it with the wayback machine to have a mirror (repackaged with winrar to reduce file size): https://web.archive.org/web/20211201155402/https://litter.catbox.moe/8z0bll.rar

The dev experienced a full-on autistic meltdown and requested that this and her future games not be translated because, wait for it, she is butthurt because (according to her) English speaking fans use her game characters as profile pics and repost the art that she, as an artist, posted on the internet. I mean, imagine people liking your works, isn't that preposterous.

>Vgperson's commentary: "Segawa has requested that English translations of her games (TOWER of HANOI and onward) no longer be made. Though she understands it's ultimately a small minority, the frequent reposting of her art and the like by English users upsets her whenever she sees it, impeding her ability to create and forcing the difficult decision to forbid translations."

Is anyone planning to translate this game?

I know this is basically dead but if anyone returns to this project please i beg you work on “Rumors of Mr. kitchen knife”

Yikes, that's nscripter. I'll see if I can find the tools for it again, but it gave me a lot of problems in the past.

tell me what this is. now. its so fucking hard to find ANYTHING about the rest of segawas games in English

nvm im stupid. i still wanna know about this cause it looks like a cute freeware vn. sorry for being dumb
