Furthermore, it's been hinted in Alien Nine that it's really all just a weird experiment for children Madotsuki's age.

And the mangaka just used his own style on this adaptation of YN, I mean, dude, he drew Alien Nine, it's obvious you will see hints of that there if the same hand worked on both stories.
