Found this on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QujTgPNWp2kMight be a bit YN inspired, but aside of that has the approach of "diving into the secrets of an art gallery".
Looks interesting, I might play it later today and take some screenshots.
No.947
Oh nice, I was about to post a thread on this but you've made a nice thread already. :3
Anyway, this game seems really interesting, I'll have to try it out soon.
No.948
So apparently there are 3(4) endings which are all kinda unnerving to me.
Also I really liked the mix of puzzles and "oh shit its behind me". Reminded me a bit of Ao Oni, but with less ridiculusly complicated/hidden things.
All in all I really liked it both story as well as gameplay wise.
No.951
I will play this tonight. It looks like fun

This thing looks pretty neat. Nice find!
I definitely plan on checking this out when I have some more time to do so.

guys, i'm stuck…
i don't know what to do, after i gave the snake the eve back in the room after the sorrowing couple…
there's a dropped painting that sayd "Behind the big tree"
and in the maze all it says is that i have to go to the right and i have to go to the south of a red painting…. WHICH RED PAINTING? WHICH BIG TREE? ;n;
i'm stuck, halp!
No.966
>>965there's a tree inside a room a little ways back. it's kind of out of the way, to the right I believe? walk behind the tree and search it and I'm sure you'll figure out what to do with what you find there right away
No.967
>>965To get to the room with the tree near the saving book you'll have to complete the maze. But it doesn't say "red painting", you may want to read that again :3
>>963I'm not sure, I just randomly did it right the first time. :0
By the way, I've had 6 ends now; which seems to be all, but I still feel like there are more possibilities on how to finish. I don't know for sure though.

Can you upload a screenshot of the big tree or the red paint?

Here's an odd request from the author of Ib (considering how game copyright issues have been brought up on Ubuu lately)…
Gameplay videos are okay as long as there are no "excessive spoilers". Yet, the guidelines also say that
there is no problem showing the endings. So I'm not sure what the author means by "excessive spoilers."
But fangames aren't allowed.
Also, if people don't follow these rules, the author will disallow all gameplay videos and fanworks entirely.

this game needs totally an fangame.

One point, as the creation secondary issue I have absolutely NG, "except that I have produced Ib games, >>making games and stories related to the character of Ib<<" is prohibited.
sooo.
means this we should not do fangames with the characters of Ib?
but allowed to make games like Ib with other characters and stories?
just asking
No.1089
>>1088Sounds like it, yeah. A game that simply imitates the art style and format (the "LcdDem" approach) would be okay, but a game that uses the original work's characters (the "Houchou Shoujo Gensou-kyoku" approach) would not be okay.

>>1091At least you have hit points in Ib. In most other "datsuge" (脱ゲー, escape horror games) made with RPG Maker or WOLF (Ao Oni, Zuruzuru-san, Devil Plug-In, Death Game, Sukuttee, etc.), you usually get killed in one hit.

Sukuttee = スクッテー
I forgot three more big ones: The Hero's Escape Game (勇者の脱出ゲーム), DoLL, and Doraemon: Nobita's Resident Evil (ドラえもん:のび太のBIOHAZARD). There are many more, I think.

I love playing Ib, seriously. It’s addicting and makes my heart jump at times… in a good way, I think.
However, I am frustrated to no end because when I meet Garry for the first time, the game crashes and an incessant error window that says “not implemented” appears. I can’t advance further because of this.
I’ve looked up on some possible solutions, but no luck. Has anyone experienced this or something similar? Even in window mode, there is no change. Oh God, someone please tell me there’s a way to fix it ;A;

No.1127
Oh, I managed to fix it. Decided to use System Restore when I realised the same error arose even by trying to start a new game; that meant it wasn’t the game’s problem but my computer’s, since it’d been working fine before. Must’ve been because of a recent driver update I installed.
Thanks a lot for your help!

I beat this game without a walkthrough (except to get an ending I couldn't figure out) or any kind of help for the puzzles… I'm so glad! It's quick but so fun and cute and askdhasd I love Ib and Garry.
Just a question, though. Anybody got an explanation for Ib's strange name? Does it mean something? Or is it a common name in Japanese?
No.1165
>>1149It sounds like "Eve" (イヴ) is misspelled as "Ib". Considering the surreal nature of this game, this spelling may or may not be intentional weirdness.

No.1178
>>1177Yup, it can be found in the game.
It's at the end of the "Forgotten Portrait" ending. If you need info on how to get that, check the Ib endings guide, which was linked earlier in this topic. Also, spoilers on Uboachan are done with double asterisks before and after the message. It's listed in the "FAQ" section at the top, if anyone forgets, or needs an example.

For anyone who had problems with the storybook, you can fix it by changing the movie's codec to Xvid and setting the resolution at 640x480. Just figured this out, cause I was tired of having to skip it!

Hey, I'm sorry about using up your time, but I've encountered a terrible issue. I just downloaded Ib, but every time I try to start playing my screen turns completely black and the only way to make my computer work again is forcing a restart.
I'm running a Windows 7 32bit version, and I followed the instructions in the manual thoroughly. Please help me, I really want to play this game.
Thanks in advance

I dont know really,
but I would like a sequel or well a spin-off, but dont
have to be related to any ending of the original game, and with anothers protagonist.
Because I really want to see new "arts" to explore, with new characters to know.

Ver. 1.05 released
http://vgboy.dabomstew.com/other/ib.htmIt’s really just a bunch of bugfixes, though. Nothing to get excited about. Also, saves from 1.04 will work.
Changes:
>Garry won’t comment on the Liars’ Room unless you actually do it.>You can no longer save as solo Mary, since you’re locked onto an ending you can’t continue from.>When on a second playthrough, the portraits for the save files have a + in the corner. For old saves, this will only take effect when Ib, Garry, and Mary first join (Ib “joining” when you get an ending).>The new dungeon is a little easier; there are more vases (one at the start, and a second in Abyssal Park… if Garry’s dead), and the croquis room has one less red guy and no stools to get in the way.>There are pamphlets in the true exhibition explaining New Game Plus and stuff.>The music list in the true gallery is fancier-looking now.>Some things that got left out of the true gallery were added, including a very special guest.Lastly, kouri confirmed he has no plans for any further updates.
