I used to play a fuckton of Unreal Tournament when I had a computer that could handle it. Capture the Flag was my favorite mode, and bunny tracks were good when I felt like torturing myself.

Anything Valve does is really nice. Halflife 2part2 is one of my favorite games, but other then what they make its really just Halo multiplayer and Bioshock infinate(nothing else in the series though.

I played Urban Terror like nobody's business back in the day. Now I'm playing a lot of Planetside 2 and Firefall. Basically the same games except one's PVP and one's PVE. Both are great

First-person shooting games are alright. I play Counter-Strike 1.6. It's… well, better than Dota and other such games.
Black Mesa Source was pretty gorgeous, as far as single player FPSes are concerned.
My favorite FPS has to be Unreal Tournament. It's so freaking intense all the time. We need more arena shooters. In fact, Quake Live came to Steam just yesterday. It's free, so maybe I should give it a shot.
I tried Tribes: Ascend once because I had played Tribes 2 many years ago and liked it. I got immediately turned off by microtransactions, though.

I really like and always liked Valve FPSs. Currently I'm regularly playing CSS. In general they're ok I think, the perspective makes it easy to insert into the gameplay. Especially if it's really silly games like Postal and stuff.
