Well lately i've been giving them a try and it appears that i'm not that good (Three year-almost Four-year investment) I think they're pretty good but playing online can be a bit of a headache. Having people call you free (Slang for being easy to beat) whenever my friends or other people that usually talking to about this stuff makes it seem that if you're bad at fighting then you have a lower intellect in general. With things such as mind-games, Reading, & Execution as well. so what are you opinions regarding this?

I'm 6 years into practicing for competitive fighting and I finally don't consider myself bad, it takes a lot of work and dedication like a real sport so try not to give up early. Your limited by your intellect and knowledge playing but hey you can just improve those to.

Reading your opponent is what all player-against-player games are about.

I think that trash talk can be fun to do sometimes, but it's never fun to have someone act condescending towards you. I guess that person just undervalues their training too much.

I am not able to give credit to people if they are good at certain games. Everyone has to practice to ascend, but the story about potential is much different. Some people are terrible at one type of game and amazing at another type, some people are terrible at all video games. Doesn't mean anything to me.

If everyone was able to choose how their brain was structured I doubt anybody would willingly handicap themselves is what I'm trying to say.

Some people just aren't good at fighting games. It doesn't mean anything about you or your intellect, it just means you aren't good at fighting games.

And also people talk shit in fighting games. Tbh, people online (when playing fighting games) act like assholes. Just because your friends talk shit doesn't mean that they actually think less of you. And if they do, then they're just not very good friends.

>>3280 i agree
I have 2 friends that totally own me in their genre, one in fps games and other in fighting games, but when it comes to puzzles i rarely use a guide and they get stuck a lot with puzzles.
but they still play adventure/puzzle games, and i enjoy the occasional match with them, point is, just enjoy what you want.
now for competitive fighting…i…just practice, i guess?

If you enjoy it, play it. If not, do something else.

No one is best at all aspects of gaming. If you like it, you will get better.

Too bad SF3 or SF4 or SF5 couldn't look like the 1994 Street Fighter anime movie…
