Just thought I'd introduce myself to the Yume Nikki community and let everyone know that I'm planning to start up a Youtube channel mainly dedicated to Yume 2kki, though I might cover some other fangames on it as well. The reason is because I feel like 2kki has gone more under the radar within the last few years, and I'm hoping to try and revive interest in the game through my own personal commentary on its many aspects such as maps, events, NPCs, etc.

I also want to make videos focused on 2kki's OST, because I think the soundtrack for 2kki is VASTLY underappreciated. There's so much good music in the game that gets unnoticed, it honestly makes me upset. My first plan for videos is to upload a series of compilations/mixes of all the chill and relaxing music/ambience from across the game. It'll be a big undertaking, but I have yet to see anyone else do this.

Here are some other ideas I have for videos on the channel in addition to the chill music mixes:

Chill & Calming Music from Yume 2kki to relax/study to (compilation series, no commentary)

The Most Beautiful & Serene Areas of Yume 2kki (commentary/opinion)

Yume 2kki's Creepiest, Eeriest, and Most Disturbing Maps (commentary/opinion)

The Worst & Most Frustrating of Yume 2kki's Maps (commentary/opinion)

The Problems with Yume 2kki's Development Cycle (opinion/critique)

Disturbing & Creepy BGM from Yume 2kki (series, no commentary)

Yume 2kki's Biggest Maps (commentary/opinion)

Author Showcases (video series talking about my favorite maps from various 2kki authors)

The Best of Yume 2kki's NPCs (commentary/opinion)

The Many Events of Yume 2kki from Beautiful to Bizarre (commentary)

That's all the ideas I have for now, but let me know if there's more you would like for me to cover on the upcoming channel. I want to make Yume 2kki somewhat popular or at least intriguing to more people again, since the community is so small nowadays. Anyways, let me know your thoughts!

I recently started play Yume 2kki too. I don't hear alot of people talking about the soundtrack, yet there's an amazing selection of songs in this game.

It sounds really interesting! I'll sub the moment you start your project. Good luck!

I'm gonna ask what I ask everyone coming here with a fan-idea, is this actually gonna happen?

I think the best thing about YN is the player's personal reflection and lonely atmosphere. I think modern lets play culture doesn't mesh well/extracts from that. That's all.

I agree. I absolutely refuse to open the wiki. I wanna try to find everything by myself atm. and let's plays of yume [name] games most of the time are boring for me.

If we (or rather he) can avoid let's play-ish style of videos, that would be cool.

personally, I'm thinking: (The example i am showing applies to some of his ideas. not all. anyway:) starting the video with the player just about to enter the subject of the video and making a short summary of the subject and mention one thing that makes it interesting.
Not too long. just a small video. the video should leave enough detail to let the viewer be interested in finding it by themselves and experiment. Let them wonder about the subject.

I was thinking: How are you going to approach your ideas? They could fit very well as little playlists/series of videos.

I'd definitely subscribe to that youtube channel OP.

Can't wait till it happens

Good luck but better be ready for competition, there are already a couple very well established Y2K channels.
