Everyone knows that Yume 2kki is often praised for being the biggest YN game, but to me there was to much random stuff that felt like it was just added in to make it bigger. Also I feel it's biggest downfall is that they had a lot of people working on it. This can be a good thing in some cases like programming, but having so many artists makes the art feel like it doesn't have a consistent art style like in Yume Nikki and even .flow. The art style is suppose to reflect the character and since there is no consistent art style I doesn't feel like the character. Don't get me wrong it isn't a bad game just not one of the better YN games. (Please don't stab me it is just my opinion)

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion so good to know how others feel! I agree that it is very random but that's actually one of the reasons it's one of my favorite fangames. My dreams are very random, like Uro's, so it gives off a really surreal vibe to me. Nothing competes with Yume Nikki, though.

I suppose to each their own, but I didn't really like Yume Nikki, .flow, 2kki or any other game specifically because of how the dreams relate to each of the characters, but more because of how the dreams looked, the music, and the ambiance.
The only major reasons I like Yume 2kki the most is because I feel it captures the 'dreams' feeling of YN without being too creepy, and secondly because of the Wataru maps which are honestly some of the best designed maps I've ever seen out of all the YN fangames, I can't honestly say there's much competition to those sets of maps alone.

I agree, to me I think part of what made YN and .flow feel so compelling was that feeling of a single game world set within one person's mind, I think they when you have multiple people designing the game world tends to lose that feeling of being the product of a single character's mind, kind of reflecting how the game was made. Which is not to say that 2kki isn't good - it's great in fact - but it loses a lot of what made YN feel so special.
