Shinji Ikari. It's spooky how much I relate to him. It's like I feel all his pain. I also act exactly like him and had a very weird out of body experience because of it once. Sometimes it feels like I'm watching someone act as me on the screen instead of watching him.

Mayuri from Steins;gate is another character. Not really who she is but how her relationship with Okabe is.

I don't really watch Japanese cartoons. Or read their comic books. Come to think of it, I don't do much of anything.

I did pick up Watamote precisely because of how relatable I usually find the main heroine, though. I figured she'd be a go-to for socially awkward anons, so let's get her out of the way early so people can move on to more obscure stuff.

I don't relate with Tomoko, just her situations. She's an entitled bitch who blames everyone else for her problems. Yeah she has social issues but she shouldn't be a cunt to anyone willing to help her. She thinks her best friend is a bitch for getting a boyfriend. Yet she talked to her the whole day like she always did. Fuck Tomoko.

(I've only see the anime though so I don't know if the manga is any different.)

Not quite at his level yet neither am I able to relate to some of his situations however his attitudes towards life and the way he responds to situations I can somehow relate to. He tries to help himself however locks himself into a vicious cycle of degradation.

well i related to a couple actually, and it was often strange to see those characters reflect myself, whereas in the usual TV shows there were never really characters that i could relate to, or see myself in.
