Played some of it. The level design is really random. Just wondering, are these all placeholder graphics? It doesn't seem like there's a lot of thought put into how things are laid out- and being that everything is mostly rtp graphics and what looks like a recolored sprite of Irene from TLG, it's not much to look at at all. If you want your game to stand out you're going to have to make your own graphics and not rely on the defaults to pull your weight for you. As far as your layouts- study other games and see how they lay out their levels. Lay down graphics in a way that logically directs the character to the place you want them to go…

The intro could have been more interesting in and of itself if it were coupled with its own images and not stuck in a text box. Again, using all rtp graphics isn't going to get you far on this front if you wanted to set a mood.

Gameplay wise… The cat had the sword the whole time? I'm glad that the cat that disappeared wasn't there for no reason, but that seems really, really random. I'm wondering if you playtested your own game? You know how everything goes since you made the game, but the story progression feels really weird and the fact that almost none of the text fits properly into the text boxes doesn't help me care about what's going on. It breaks any immersion I might have had in the first place.

Your writing… Ehn. I'm wondering where all of these characters came from? They're sort of thrown at the player without any context whatsoever. Same with the story. Events are happening to our protagonist- why does she care about what's happening? Why are they happening? Why should the player care? Those are questions you should ask if you want to keep making games. Also- it's very unprofessional to use emoticons within your text. That's what face portraits are for if you want to show how your characters react to what others say.

TL;DR: Is this your first game? Use original content if you want to be taken seriously.

It's a lot better now, first time you posted it was SHIT, now it's pretty decent, some things:

The story: it's fucking beautiful, I like the psychologic thing, but make it faster, you discover things like clouds it needs patience and some players don't have it
Your game is not the yume nikki type, is actually has a story, have that in mind.

The characters are fabulous, but by far the best is Sabrina, and she has very low participation WHAT THE FUCK GIVE ME MORE SABRINA AND LESS UGLY ROJA!

Give the players more freedom to use the transition effect

Note all of us are kinda elitist, but you'll have critics for the default tileset you're using in the beggining of the game, my friendly advice

Well, no it isnt, CCLE has a lot of references at the beggining, but is not that kind of game, there are no effects, just a few limited abilities, it also doesn't focus on just a storyline, there are lots of usable characters (image) that follow a story with separate situations, Azul is the only "dreamer" in path of Seki, you just kill things, and path of elite is a completely different (but parallel) story…

Don't play it all over again, you played the (almost) most actual version without the kills, the last part in the new upload just says a few things after the library with Sabrina, she identifies Azul as "sister" and this happens:

At first, I was very confused, since it seemed like I started off in the middle of events, with no context for the situation, or who any of the characters were, plus I was able to get multiple endings within the first 5 minutes of starting the game. I then tried playing an older version I had previously downloaded, and realized that the newest version seems to be lacking the intro, and many other scenes, by the look of it.

The included picture is where the newest version started me out at.

I dunno if this might've been intentional so people returning to the game could see the new stuff quicker (though they can also just copy and paste save files between versions), but it was very confusing as someone trying the game for the first time.

It's alright, I've been spoiled worse before, and still enjoyed games, so it probably won't be a problem here either. It'd probably be good to specify that in the future, though.

There's also one other thing I should mention though; the "without RTP" versions seem to be lacking more than the RTP, since I noticed certain locations, like the room I started in the newest version, and Azul's dream area had some VERY odd mapping. I then downloaded a version with the RTP and noticed that it wasn't the mapping that was the problem, but the tileset, which seems to be displaying incorrectly in the non-RTP version; the included picture's an example of what I mean.

I noticed this is because you didn't include the "building" "dungeon" and "ship" chipsets. While normally, there are files by those names within the 2003 RTP, it looks like you use some chipsets that have the same names, but look VERY different from the default ones. So yeah, you should be able to just add those three files to the non-RTP version, and the issue will probably be fixed.

Besides the bugginess, I can say the game seems interesting, and better than many first projects I've seen, though I don't feel like I can judge it too much yet, since it seems there's still a good bit I haven't played yet.

The game still is not ended and the most is still in development (the last part is to show us the end, I guess?? Balthasar can explain this); so far, for what it says (and what I interpreted), we know that Azul is probably a war experiment and hence 'she is not real'. But depending the ending, you can change it through Seki's sacrifice, giving her a real life.

Or at least that's what I understood.

Well, Azul was a perfectly normal person, in the "you only remember this" she remembers facts until Laguna's attack, Seki arrives and attacks Laguna, but she got captured by the enemy, taken to the laboratory where she DIED… That's the reason for this scene in her last dream, so after "you only remember this" you're controlling an illusion… until the end where you see if Azul could be real or not depending on Seki's action, I'll make that clearer in the next release.

This is way better than the majority of first projects I've played, I completed the three endings and path of elite, I can see you gave a lot of effort on it, you corrected some serious bugs, removed the ULTRA cruel parts and replaced a SHITLOAD of maps completely… however these are some critics and little things I'd like to see in the next version:

I don't know… I even said that ITT, it's not, well in fact it doesn't even look like one, was this /og/ again? it has a nexus-like scenario that's not even a nexus, , it's barely a reference, there are references from other games too, also there you can't choose where to go, there's no exploration/effects, Azul's abilities work very different, she has 3 dreams, actually one of them is a flashback, and in the whole game she's awake the 98% of the time and it's a completely lineal story, someone expecting a fangame would be very dissapointed.

Ok, sorry about the novel, but I want to help, lets see

First, you're a horrible programmer, the source is a complete disaster and I can see there's a lot of improvisation and you've probably never read a tutorial, wich makes me wonder a lot of things in the good sense, because the game it's actually enjoyable, the story is wonderful, you can feel things with this, the characters are loveable, and the new music it's pretty good but it needs more quality, somehow you managed to make a good game, I am so impressed because I've played your 0.00, and it's probably the WORST 0.00 I've ever played(I even insulted you yeah), and now I look at this and wow, it can only be explained with your huge effort, it's not only improved, it's in a completely different level. You have some glitches with Sabrina's ability in the last part of PoE, also it would be good to see the new Raid sprite I've found in the Charsets folder, it looks way better, Seki's sprite in the Extra Story makes the sprite in the main story look like shit… Honestly, all the sprites you used for the Extra Story look a lot better than the old ones! seriously do something about that! The extra story's events were very unexpected to me, again, the story is great.
Your artists have made a wonderful work too. Good to see Rindre around here, such a nostalgic face.

Don't be such an extremist, he's not forbidding anyone of playing his game, he just doesn't want people to play an unfinished, outdated game when there's a remake around. I understand why people would be interested in playing older versions of a game they like, but that doesn't mean balthasar wants them to try CCLE when there's WoE in the first place (that being the reason he took that version off), and that's all.
