Hiya, Uboachan, I got a question. How did you interpret Mado's personality?As for me, I was too busy initially enjoying Yume Nikki to actually think much about her as a character. I have the pleasure of rolepaying her in a vg character group called Gamers on Tegaki-E (which you should all join right now) and to put it simply, I've made her a brat. She considers herself above others, she picks on people and is a controlling, bitchy little girl. When I write her she's kind of apathetic. In the waking world she's bored, she doesn't care about socializing, doesn't miss her parents, nothing matters but her dreams, where she's got some wonder left. In there she acts surprisingly normal, except to Poniko, Monoko, Monoe, and Masada, to whom she acts alternately sociopathic and loving.
That's kind of the way I rp her, too. I really haven't used her in many rps yet, but I thought on her character as a while - she does seem kind of easily bored and moodswingy.Also, on top of this, how do you interpret her relationships with other characters? My Poniko won't speak to her. She gets irritated with Monoe because she's so sarcastic. She feels guilt regarding Monoko because Monoko was the youngest, and Mado couldn't be there for her in reality when she was dying. Masada is an outlet for Mado's thoughts and emotions, intelligent enough that she actually wants to talk to him, but passive enough that she's not afraid to hurt him.
I've always thought of her as being hyper depressed and lonely but trying very hard (and failing) to mask it behind a veil of apathy or of being bored. At the same time, I see her as gentle yet somewhat manipulative of others.
I would give that Tegaki-E a shot but, you see, drawing tablets aren't really my strongpoint. My dexterity suffers a lot when i use one.I work better on paper.
