Same, man. It's pretty terrible, the shit you see there sometimes. I tend to try and avoid the political side altogether and just follow artist/comedy blogs and stuff I enjoy. For better or for worse, tumblr gives it's users the ability to filter out most of the stuff they don't wanna see. Which is partly the reason why so many folks there are so delusional (and not in the good way) and close-minded, since all they ever hear is their opinion being reflected back to them without any opposition, but it's still useful if you just wanna use the site for a laugh or to look at cool art or something.

Did you have problems handling japanese? I looked at a few signs and realized I couldn't read all of it if I didn't have a fucking dictionary.
Also, what foods did you try? What other goodies did you find? What about doujinshi? Eroge? Tell us more.
Lucky dog, I wish I had the money to make a trip and visit a few tea houses, the Kinkaku-ji and other many other temples.

Oh yeah. I didn't have too much trouble handling Japanese there. Everyone was really understanding and always gave me an easy time when I was stumbling :)
I picked up MOTHER2 for the Super Famicom, a copy of Palette -forget me not- for the PS1, MHP2ndG, a yotsubato manga (Love that stuff,) and a couple 07th expansion VNs. Kinkaku-ji was really not worth it. Thousands of tourists, and the place smelled terrible because of it. I was very disappointed. Uh… Foods. Amazing okonomiyaki at a chain called DONGURI (I'm pretty sure that was the name.) In general I had some trouble finding food in Tokyo since I'm a vegetarian, but because of the large Buddhist population in Kyoto (I assume) I didn't have too much trouble there. Great noodles. Ended up staying at a ryokan with served homemade traditional breakfast. Top quality stuff there. Speaking of 07th :P

Now there's this really awkward air between everyone in the group and people are starting to witch hunt each other over other, lesser things. Like minor political opinions.
It's just really bizarre to see this group of people who used to love each others company degrade into absolutely hating and slandering each other. Is this how it always ends, or is it just a symptom of the times?

One or two people's emotional reaction sets the norms of the group, and everyone else emulates their attitude to affirm membership. The person who got marginalized gets cannibalized so everyone else can feel closer. Nobody will ever defend or align themselves with them, as they risk the same.
Someone wanted to assasinate their reputation. That kind of information is never spread without malicious intentions, even if it was true. Most group interactions are a proto-form of chan discussion - those people are likely entirely unconcious of their own emotions or behavior. You're literally dealing with animals.

I know how all that is.
The first time I ever really talked to people much was actually a forum that's been dead for a long time now. That place alone yields a bunch of similar stories: it started as a certain youtuber's fan forum, but when he abandoned it it was taken up by a Romanian with a vampire's name.
By this point, there was a little bit of a userbase, and he kind of set them against each other. Anyone who he disliked he baited and eventually banned after he got done fucking with them. He was big into debating people, and would confrontationlly refute them a lot, believe whatever was convenient at the time to trounce them. Really, the only similar figure I can think of is the main character from a movie called Naked by Andrew Leigh: a hilarious hateful tramp who would wander around and yell at and debate people as a form of antagonism.
Anyway, some member of THAT forum split off and formed another one, a liberal circlejerk run by and for bitter virgins. Shit, by now that one's also split into multiple groups. That one was always characterized in particular by the behavior described elsewhere here: people would single out others for ridicule, those that were would never be defended, and everyone was too weak in the face of their own (imaginary, valueless) reputation for any kind of courage.
Then I get out into the world and I find that real groups are like that too. And I land elsewhere and find that even people with similar problems who should be relatable are like that. It's pretty depressing.
Honestly, I just want one person similar enough to empathize with; fuck groups. But people are such that even if you find that person, you're as likely as not to rip each other apart for some of the same, tribalistic, bullshit monkey reasons.
Anonymous 07/17/16 (Sun) 03:51:28 No. 15932
It's possible to have good friend groups that don't do this. They're out there and they're not extremely rare, but they are uncommon.
The important thing is, these groups don't let anyone into their circles precisely to avoid this. If you just let anyone into a social circle, eventually you find these narcissists will quickly gain social capital and use it to ostracize and remove anyone who crosses them, either literally or by something as simple as offending their personal views and ideals.
If that happens, the social group becomes lost. Social circles are like living beasts; once they learn the taste of blood, there is no turning back. A group of people that becomes addicted to the high they feel when they band together to eliminate someone through a witch hunt. People become adapted to the idea that it's okay to oust people for increasingly petty things.
This is why you see a lot of SJW circles, and their ilk, doing what they do online. They've learned the taste of blood, and for them there is no salvation or hope. They've become peversely addicted to the feeling of crushing another person, holding power over them, controlling who their friends interact with or do. Power corrupts, and that kind of power will corrupt absolutely.
Don't get me wrong, sometimes people are threats to social groups and physically dangerous (murderers, rapists, etc.), but this should be a last resort used only in extreme measures. And it's possible that your social group will become corrupted out of necessary drama. It's unfortunate, but it does happen.

Imageboards lost to identity-centric social media because people would rather make or consume content when it boosts their social status. 4chan homogenized years ago and I still can't forgive the staff for what its done even if it's been slotted out many times over with fresh batches of mentally unstable teenagers.
I've seen spinoff after spinoff culturally implode upon itself and become consumed in IRC drama or synthesize with offsite twitter personas to become the passive regurgitator of memes and drama. Irony stopped being ironic and suddenly the site was just a bunch of teenagers who never participated in the original cultures.
Lainchan would be alright if its BPD admin stopped financially and culturally destroying the community. The censorship and user persecution is outrageous in spite of what is immediately apparent. That community has a history of singling out posters and harrassing them off the site for reasons outside of the rules and right in the IRC channel. I'm pretty sure he's getting paid for the stealth advertising threads the staff blatantly let run.
Everything is so mediocre and intellectually neutralized across media. I saw chans as an alternative to the monodirectional paste, but the medium has fallen. Someone needs to make the next evolution of an anonymous imageboard.
Anonymous 08/08/16 (Mon) 18:57:56 No. 16144
The thing is, you have to remember that people on imageboards are just that: people. People as a whole, and particularly adolescents, are desperate for acceptance. Acceptance from someone, somehow, someway. This tendency seems to have gotten worse among people the longer I've been alive, though. If you have a place that's billed as being cool and edgy and ends up attracting a swarm of kids who are sure of how different they are, but have nothing serious to say themselves; who want to fit in, but don't have normal groups to do it in; well… What you end up creating is highschool. Instead of discussions you get memes. Memes and constantly spouting them is the literal logical conclusion of this process: a bullshit injoke that people spout as opposed to actually saying anything to distinguish themselves as part of a given group. Anyway, you take a group of people who want to fit in, are passive nerds in the first place, and suddenly they'll soak up whatever bullshit idea or trend you give them, regurgitate it in place of actually HAVING an identity to themselves. /pol/ and /lgbt/ are kind of similar in this regard. That's what's ironic: the people who superficially seem to desire projecting an identity the most usually have an actual persona unto themselves the least, because it's all made up of thins they've heard others say: the loser internet teen equivalent of silly-colored flamingo feathers, colorful surface bullshit masquerading as something inside them. I almost feel like self-aware, intelligent humans who think for themselves genuinely aren't a thing anymore. Even among introverted nerds this same kind of bullshit wins out in the end because of simple need and desire to be approved of. Granted, individuals still exist. But all the oldfags I've known are either passive enough or mature enough to have moved on for the most part rather than swim against the current. But the worst thing is, you can't really seem to escape this same shit anywhere. Maybe that's a lesson.

I understand what you mean though. And it's sad to see things had come to this, but I haven't found any alternative yet. I wanted to quit a few times already but I just simply can't. That's why I decided I would stay and post the kind of content I wanted to see, while striving for having a certain standard when posting. Still, finding motivation or even a topic to arise discussion is hard nowadays. I made a few threads in other places but all I received were one or two replies that barely contributed to the topic, so I felt like "Why even try?". I've been feeling like that for a while now, actually. But I think there's some hope in small places like ubuu or sushi, though, and that's where I've been focusing my posting. I believe that if non-noxious posting is encouraged by a small userbase then newfags will try to post with that kind of standard too. It won't certainly be what things were like before but at least it will move away from the sewer-like shitholes imageboards in general are becoming.

It's been ongoing since the medium spawned out of the asshole of some faggy teenager.
>I wanted to quit a few times already but I just simply can't
This is an internal question I've grappled with for about two years.
I "quit" the super-cool underground imageboard subculture circuit in 2011 and found myself right back in 2013. The simple answer is that I had nothing else (IRL or an internet equivalent) and imageboards were really gratifying.
It's an escape from the bounds of identity and social convention and a cheap outlet for immediate interaction. Beyond this, I do it because I want my own cultural platform. I want tear apart the mediocrity and ideology of corporate media with decontextualized anime girls and degradation aesthetics. I want to shit on the diversionary minutia of identity politics and pretend-activism self righteous adolescents blindly spew while not comprehending actual dynamics of societal decay, rapidly polarizing political inequality and an intensifying neocolonial bloodbath. I want a place that transcends hugboxes, intellectual passivity, politics, materialism and utter shitting complacency to brutally expose reality. I want to escape banality.
Rationally, I should have moved to twitter or tumblr. People have been appropriating chan subcultures for cool points since at least 2012 and the fruits of their betrayal are thousands of followers and an endless source of validation. These people have been able to monetize their culture scraping personas in the form of PR deals with firms that hand out free shit and pay anyone who is seen to have influence. They were financially and socially rewarded for trashing the ideals of the communities they commodified.
And here I am, whining, alienated and left with nothing but homogenization and absolute contextual diffusion. There are no distinctions between 4chan, twitter, facebook and tumblr and all communication is already trivialized and rendered impossible. I'm too old to be here and every post I make is done to get attention from kids.
Maybe I should build a resume or try to do something in my STEM degree. A 15 year old who stole code from a bunch jap nerds was able to start all this.

The era of image boards is fading but…
What comes after will not last forever either, they may last only a few years before something new comes along. There was a time when certain image boards were regarded as the most awful place you could ever go, other more current places seem to be slowly ascending to that rank. And how did we get here? That was all years ago, the climate of the Internet hasn't just changed but we have as well, we are not the same person we were years ago. The Internet didn't just change, we changed it, we made it what it is, we as users of the Internet are collectively responsible for what it has become. But its changed us as well, influenced us for a long time. I remember long ago there were threats on 4chan: "how did 4chan make your life better/worse" The time we spent on the Internet wasn't just a huge waste of our time, the changes we made to the world of the Internet and to ourselves was life, it was through the Internet that we experienced life, It was where we matured as people. With the Internet we have every bit of information we could possibly need at our fingertips, we have the power to communicate with anyone anywhere at any time exchanging ideas and philosophies, even our choice of identity is flexible and mutable. This is not brought about a perfect world as many thought it would, nor as it driven us to madness as Lovecraft thought it would. We are still human and limited by that. We stand on the edge of oblivion and yet… nothing interesting happened, like when we traveled to that magnificent glowing orb in the sky to discover it was just a bunch of rocks and dust. We are here to look at pictures of cats and argue with strangers.
Anonymous 08/09/16 (Tue) 13:57:28 No. 16149 >>16145
(I remember a certain other foreigner said they also broadcast old stuff on their TV. Blade Runner even. You're blessed that way.)
I'm dead serious: for what you want, you should make art. It has more shelf-life than self-effacing rants to flicker like ghosts but less permanent on the glowy boxes in the shadow of uninfluential nerds anyhow. But anyway, I feel you.
But honestly, I got into actually POSTING on chans because I was, through circumstances of my upbringing, stuck in alternative highschools for the trash of the trash, and suddenly ubuu people seemed sympathetic and understandable. I was into RPGmaker games but not AS into yn. I just did it because I found this group to be somehow different, sympathetic compared to normal people.
And guess what? When groups would form here, they would rip themselves apart and alienate me over the same petty, trivial bullshit that they would IRL.
There's a lesson there, too. Maybe this never was that special; maybe we just didn't view it as cynically and dismissively as other places simply because it was on our level, not some anthill 6 feet down on the ground.
Or well, maybe I'm just trying to reassure myself..
I don't know if imageboards have affected me entirely well. I think they've made me more independent-minded on the one hand, but on the other they've made me more judgmental. They've shown me what love is, and then snatched it away. They've shown me people I can truly relate to and empathize with, and they've only ever stuck around in maybe a single case. Which has the effect of jading me when it comes to RL people but still leaving me perfectly alone. I worry they've made me more lazy than anything else, really. Maybe perverse, too.
And yeah, we ARE still limited by the fact we're human. I remember I was on a forum once that had its own pet stock of tech geeks who would post about oculus and bigger screens and whatever. At one point I posted back that in a way the internet was absurdly depressing, because it was and is the most comprehensive, expansive, potentially beneficial thing we've ever actually fully realized as a race.. And we typically just use it for self-aggrandizement on the part of people who don't do anything IRL anyway, for porn, for meaningless queries the answers to which are forgotten as soon as they cease being relevant, your memory being shot by having that much immediate access to information constantly. They barely understood the statement.
Or, if you REALLY know what you're doing, maybe you can get on the cool, unfiltered end of it. What do you do then? Download less legal porn and buy drugs. Whoopee.
Anyway, this was all inevitable. The fact that people keep referring to imageboards as a "medium" reminds me of a conversation I had with my Local Hipster Record Store owner awhile back. He talked about how the really good American movies were from the 20s and the 30s; how you had all these disillusioned European exmilitary directors; how people weren't afraid of creating violent, chaotic, meaningful things. Because the medium was new, and untested, and people were experimenting, and were allowed and encouraged to.
Guess what happened after? Standards were set. Rules drawn up. Popularity came and with it the expectations of the common man. It was normalized, commercialized.
The Golden Age of any art, it seems he was saying, is just after it's created and before it catches on; when it's new, exciting, draws creative talents.
Well guess what? Imageboards stopped being a new art a long while ago.

Maybe that was true 10 years ago, but I'm playing Oblivion on Linux, Skyrim works too, and I can install steam and play thousands of games including every game written by Valve. Nvidia and AMD both publish graphics drivers for Linux, and I can run most Windows games and programs seamlessly with the Wine layer. And of course there are thousands of quality Linux programs that do just about everything a modern desktop user could need.
Also software development goes much faster and simpler than with Visual C++, imo.

Not to mention support is shit and it will last as much as the devs want to update, see sabayon and gentoo for example, developers don't care for their users, they just want to raise their funds.
I say get windogs and double click to run whatever shit you want, and have mint partition or VM like a real communist imprisoned in a concentration camp if you need to develop shit.
The market, entertainment and business world is made for windogs, that's all.

As stacked as it is, you can't deny loonox needs special kid treatment to handle compatibilities while Windogs runs the adult world easily because the world is made for Windogs.
Leave your child in a VM where it belongs, because it's second tier and rarely necessary for people who are not software developers.

If I wanted a functional OS that did what I wanted the way I wanted it done, the closest I've found is Haiku. Sadly, it's got zilch for software. You can web browse and that's about it. Linux Mint is a decent OS for all your standard desktop workstation needs, but all *nixes are terrible for gaming, period. Hell, Windows itself can't seem to figure out how to run games half the time anymore. I miss XP.

You sound like you haven't tried a mainstream Linux distro in several years.
In any case, I use Linux because I'm a software dev and I don't play that many games. I've got a powerful Windows desktop on the side if there's something I want to play. I still vastly prefer Linux for day-to-day tasks, though. Once I got the hang of it it felt like less of a struggle than Windows.
Doesn't take 10 minutes to boot, startup programs don't pop up shit on my screen for 10 minutes after that, doesn't interrupt stuff I'm doing with update dialogs or surprise me with unstoppable countdowns to reboot, don't have to worry about viruses ever, and unlike Windows you can actually get help with problems online instead of fucking tools quoting the Microsoft knowledge base at you. And if a serious problem happens I can look under the hood and fix it myself instead of hoping the maintenance CD will magically fix it for me or, you know, reinstalling from scratch. And it doesn't slow down with age.
If I want to install any program I run a single line in the command prompt and it's done. No downloading an installer from a website somewhere, no installation dialog with 5+ steps, no sneaky attempts to install additional bundled software.
Also it's faster at absolutely everything than Windows is and you can often play Windows games in Wine with a higher FPS than running them on Windows with the same hardware. That's how much Windows' graphics subsystem sucks balls; you can emulate its functionality faster than actually running it.

I've been revisiting/thinking about dead sites I used to go to (3 particular ones).
The first one is still up but clearly abandoned. The most recent announcement is from spring 2015, and the most recent drawing on the oekaki board of the site was from 6 months ago (and the one before that was from 8 months ago). I didn't go to it that much compared to the other 2 but it was kind of comfy and I even got an award for a thing there. The owner of the site was the last person to comment on the chatbox, and said that the site would remain up until he stops paying for the server. The second one I visited recently just to see what had happened to it (I hadn't visited the site in almost half a year maybe). I couldn't find the login button for some reason, and it turned out the admins nuked the, uh, community part of the site? It was a news/avatar site. Anyways apparently the admins announced that the site was closing on a specific date, but then nuked it a few weeks before the actual date without telling anyone. I thought that it was kind of weird that I didn't even feel sad or anything hearing that despite the fact that it was my first online community, I had been a member for a solid 6 years maybe, and I spent actual money on it (well it wasn't a lot but still). plus I was one of those old rich farts with a ton of retired items. I'm still a bit bitter about those being gone since I'd do rounds several times a day to see if someone listed a rare item (there were a lot so I'd check tons of pages worth of items) religiously. The last one was similar to the second but the site got nuked on the actual date it was supposed to get nuked, thankfully..? It was kind of surreal seeing everyone so frantic about getting rid of their stuff in exchange for whatever even though it was going to disappear in a matter of days. Also it's funny compared to the second site, which I was a member of for years, because I joined the site literally a month or two before it got nuked ;-;. I don't know what possessed me to write three shitty paragraphs about dead websites but whatever. I just feel hollow now. At least I have ubuu I guess inb4 it's dead too shhh. Anyone else have stories about old or dead websites/forums/online communities/whathaveyous that you used to visit/be apart of?

No, He decided to trascend humanity.
I wish he still came here. I hope things are going well for him; that meaning that he either found what he was looking for or a miracle ocurred in his life that somehow straightened his path again.
As long as he is happy, anything will do. But whether he found such happiness, I'm afraid we will never know. There is hope he will come again, but I've came to learn hope isn't to be depended on. It's just the illusion we hold until the very last moment. Depending on a false hope would only poison us as time goes on. That's why I don't trust hope anymore. But even so… I want to believe there's a chance for everyone. I know it's just empty words to comfort myself, but one needs to believe in something in order to keep going. It's that, or abandoning onself to dispair.
His name is another one in my long list of missing people, and yet there are more entries than names on my list. But that's too cruel, they're not just numbers. They were people with hopes, dreams, but bad luck in life. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and think how cruel destiny is, and what would have happened if things went differntly for everyone.
Just here on uboachan, I've collected two names and another 5 anons over the past years. I often think about them. I find it pretty ironic that I'm more attached to people I barely know than my family, who are the only people close to me. But I'm even more surprised they are gone. You know, just as I'm posting this, it could be the last time. Have you ever wondered how many anons you've talked to are still there, roaming the internet? And what about those who are gone? I always think about them. My brothers. My sisters. My mission is just to watch. My mission is to not forget. I know I'm not the only one, but sometimes I waver.
Tomorrow I'll be buying new candles for my shrine. I may not be able to change anything. No, I should say I'm completely useless in that sense. But as long as I exist, I take upon those names, and pray for them. I don't know whether a soul exists, I don't know whether my actions have real consequences on anything, but I do know that being the only one who remembers grants me the chance to do something for them. Trivial, worthless, stupid and pointless, but as long as I exist, those in my memory will have someone who remembers them fondly, prays for their name and offers his apologies while burning sticks for them.

(…) Ratings typically carry age recommendations in an advisory or restrictive capacity, and are often given in lieu of censorship. In some jurisdictions the legal obligation of administering the rating may be imposed on movie theaters. >Even if the film rating system has no legal consequences, and a film has not explicitly been restricted or banned, there are usually laws forbidding certain films, or forbidding minors to view them.
Even thinking it'd be possible for kids to actually go watch it in the theathers without restrictions, it would go viral even before it makes it there. With the way information flies nowadays in our society, there's literally no way people will go watch it without knowing what they are facing. Also, in most places theathers MUST clarify what the movie you are watching is about. You don't usually go to watch a random movie with your kiddies and BAM, there's a big sex scene with dildoes flying around just because. Unless you're a massive retard.

I hate smartphones more and more each passing day. I made a post kinda like this over in /hikki/ but I'm going to go all out in spilling my thoughts onto them.
I've used smartphones almost everyday for over three years now since I had the money to afford the bill for one. And as far as it being a tool to text people and call people, as well as use a few apps for basic everyday things like shopping lists, a camera, etc. these things are awesome and I like that aspect of them. But everything else just pisses me off. I hate how such a basic tool has been turned into a fucking status symbol and people buy into the most expensive models all the time. And this wouldn't be such a big deal, if these people wouldn't act like their choice in a fucking phone made them better than other people. Oh, what's this, Bobby? Did you buy an Android phone? Oh, you must be quite poor. Oh, did you buy an iPhone, lol, you must be a retard who can't handle Android. Smartphones having these little cliques online is the most cancerous thing I've ever seen in a long time. All these fucking flame wars and people losing respect for people over a choice in a fucking tool just pisses me off to hell. I've used all the mainstream smartphones OSes and besides some slight differences, it's all the same shit. You call people, you text people, you check your facebook, *chan threads, twitter, etc, take pictures of your girlfriend's ass and awkwardly try to not show it when you want to show pictures of your family to your friends, and all that shit. And yet companies want both nerds and normies to pay top dollar for this shit. I mean, really, is 600-1000 bucks for a phone worth it just so you can say your phone has 8 processing cores and 6GB of RAM? Or that your phone has a lot of courage? What the fuck are people doing with these phones that require so much fucking power? More to the point, these devices are so fucking expensive that some of these things are considered budget for being 400 bucks. It's like companies are just forcing every gimmick they can find to not only bump up the specs but also and more importantly the price. Fuck this VR shit on phones. Fuck this stupid fetish with 2K/4K res screens on these fucking 5 inch phones (like really nigga?) and most of all, fuck these high ass prices for tools/toys that most people use in the exact same way no matter what they buy. I won't call you stupid, but I will say that if you spent more than 150 bucks on a smartphone, then chances are quite good that you've made a mistake, in my opinion. Fanboys will act like Apple is the bad guy or that Samsung is evil or whatever when truth is all these fucking companies like having their products being as fucking throwaway as possible. I try not to get mad at the insentient phones themselves, but when I think about the stupid companies and the pointless squabbles between fanboys over different devices with fairly superficial differences and how said stupid companies use this to their advantage, it's hard to not get mad at the smartphones. Not to mention, people are always glued to their goddamn phones anyways. FUCK. Okay, I feel better now.

I didn't use a phone until a month ago, dad gave me one for my birthday. I feel like a normie, only 3 contacts (family). The good things about them are 1- I can listen to music when I'm not on a computer, 2- I can read books when I'm not a computer. Fuck the rest.
>Not to mention, people are always glued to their goddamn phones anyways. FUCK.
Kek, this is actually the only thing I really love about them. I was tired of havng a book at hand to ignore people all the time.
Anonymous 01/06/17 (Fri) 21:16:52 No. 16701
It's fine if you don't want to engage in conversation with other people, but it pisses me off because people are so caught up in their phones that when someone makes an active choice to reduce their dependence on them they see how fucked everyone else is.
As I said, I like how I can make a shopping list on my computer and then have it on my phone so I can use less paper, that's neat. I like being able to take pictures with a phone's camera for memories or documentation. And without a doubt having the information of the whole Internet in your hand is nice.
But this whole, "Pay hundreds of dollars every 18 to 24 months for a slight upgrade" shit is retarded. I think my next smartphone will just be a used phone from Swappa or something.
>reading books >on such a small screen
Why would you do that? Not trying to be a bulli, legit curious.

To be honest I'm in a contract currently for a ~$600 iPhone.
This may sound stupid but I've had to deal with cheaper <$150 phones for years now and they just don't last. The hope is that this phone will last over 5 years. I rarely use my phone and I for the few times that I do use it, I want it to work flawlessly consistently for in excess of 5 years.
If it doesn't last that long then yeah, I'll be pissed.
It's the same thing with my laptop. I used to hop around every few years with cheap laptops. It wasn't until I invested in a $1300 macbook that I could stop this wasteful cycle. It's been three years since I bought it and it's still in near perfect condition. Works like day one. Hopefully it'll continue to last for at least another 5-7 years.
I can see no reason why I'd need extra power in the near future so I expect my devices to work like fridges. You'd be pissed if you had to replace your fridge once every 3 years so I don't see why I would have to buy a new phone or computer every 3 years either.
Anonymous 01/06/17 (Fri) 22:45:56 No. 16704
After seeing the whole touch disease thing happen with the iPhone 6 Plus and how Apple doesn't truly care, it sorta pissed me off because I have the extact same phone that was a gift and if it's true all iPhone 6es have this issue then I'll have to either go back to my old Android, which is okay and was only like 50 bucks or maybe buy another android. Hopefully that'll take several years.
I don't know, after going between the two extremes I see that both are about equal. Apple is slowly shitting itself by doing weird shit and jacking up the price while companies like Moto are putting out decent devices with okay build quality.
While I've never experienced the "iPhone gets slower with each update" thing people talk about, it's clear that Apple tries as much as they can to get you to update like any other OEM would. I just feel like if I'm gonna be forced to get a new phone every 2-3 years anyways, might as well not spend as much.
Laptops and desktops are a bit different though. I can understand paying a lot for a good computer since they can last for 8-10 years easily, especially a desktop. My first desktop lasted me for over a decade.
Yea, I do consider phone screens to be pretty tiny. If I read a book, I'll grab a decently sized tablet first. At most I'll read a small article with reader mode on.
Anonymous 01/07/17 (Sat) 17:33:16 No. 16705
The problem I've run into with <$200 android phones is that every one has been severely limited with both RAM and internal storage space. Excessive feature creep in software has made it so that within 2-3 years for every single smart phone I've had (3 to current) I could no longer update software or multitask and basic things like the web browser would crash out. I don't need fancy pants cpu, camera, or screen, but pricing out anything with decent ram size and internal memory throws literally everything into the >$300 range. Used market is probably your best bet, but I still wouldn't expect a phone to last more than a couple years, tops. They're literally designed to force you to buy new.

It makes me throw up a little bit in my mouth when I think about how people are doing what they're supposed to do on a computer(use the internet) on their phone. Why not just go all the way and put yourself inside a computer with no way of interacting with the outside world? When nobody has anything to talk about and people just start using their phones to look busy and sociable it really pisses me off.

So… you want to defend freedom by attacking people who disagree with you? How in the hell is that not like the Nazis? It sounds like anyone who is vaguely right leaning is automatically a Nazi now.

Why do people bother downloading that stuff? Couldn't you just bookmark where you found it online and not clutter up your pc?
Anonymous 02/04/17 (Sat) 17:38:40 No. 16984
Sometimes things disappear from their location on the internet. Of course, because it's the internet, they still exist. But it's hard to find them again. Downloading them solves this problem.

And why should that ever make you doubt yourself. How good something is is relative, so it's pointless to always compare yourself. You're just wasting time in which you could be working to get better or congratulating yourself for being able to do those two things.
Instead of comparing and throwing yourself down, try to put more of your thoughts into becoming better than your past self and what you are right now.
And just do as

Unfortunately we don't really have the funds to run a dedicated server for Uboachan right now, though if the interest were great enough I might look into Minecraft hosting services.

Everytime I look up Super Mario Odyssey, I get this random thought about prevent the 'too bad scripting virus' from ever appearing in the game, as my belief is that the death text appearing in other 3D titles could attractsnegative feedback towards players.
I'm not offended by anything else during gameplay. I'm wishing that the problem with Nintendo would stop esclating.
If you like to see where my problem arose, here's a couple of links:

I think people will remember retro core gaming. The death scripting is just what concerns me if it's going to annoy the hell out of players like when it did in 2013.
Super Mario Odyssey doesn't come out until Christmas.
>I wish for an Etrian Odyssey V English localization patch.
It's kind of strange to see FATLUS or another developer not updating/patching games, like Team17 updated Flockers Mobile once, etc. (but they're great games).
Just caught an idea so I'll thank you for the suggestion:

Last night I learned about the subculture of women who choose to be single mothers and then fucking virtue signal about it, trying to act like they aren't hurting their kids by trying to live out some retarded feminist fantasy. Some gender studies cunt made some "study" about fatherless homes and tries to argue about how men raised without their dad are manlier and these vapid cunts just lap this shit up while bitching about the lack of good men to raise kids with.
I'm so fucking pissed about this, being raised by single mother by choice, and I don't really have anyone to turn to about this. I'm so full of hate and anger right now. Why are people so fucking selfish? I've found video after video and several articles and sites all promoting this cancer, and all I see are self absorbed whores and faggot men who just see their sperm as a way to make money. It makes me so fucking sick to my stomach. Why can't you bitches just adopt a cat? Why can't some faggots just actually work for their money? Fuck everyone involved in this bullshit and I pray for those poor children.
