Adventure Time started irritating me when they started doing shippy episodes and tryhard ~feelings~ episodes. Not saying I don't like that every once in awhile, but it felt strangely… forced? They were so tedious for me to sit through, so I haven't picked it up in awhile.

On topic- I agree with what >>817 said about the comic post A5A2. The story telling just doesn't seem as good, and I really wish Hussie would just ignore the part of the fandom that he "pokes fun" at, rather than, well, poke fun at them. Especially if he's going to do it, and then change it at the expected backlash (i.e: changing from "CAUCASIAN" to "PEACHY" in this panel http://www.mspaintadventures.com/trickster.php?s=6&p=007623 )

So…? I hate that AT is taken too seriously. Really crazy people must like it.

The show started off strong. It was, in a way, psychedelic. Among that, people who have been following the show since the beginning got to see some shocking things as the story grew.

As the story grew, the lore did not catch up. The writers then, i suppose, kind of bullshitted a few formulaic episodes.

You know how the critics say a "normal" AT episode goes–first it starts off with Finn and Jake hanging out saying adult-friendly terms like "bro", then something pops up for no apparent reason that needs help. Then without too much action they resolve the conflict, and/or its a romance episode. I personally believe this to be partially true.

However, I have grown to love the Ice King episodes. He's just this awkward old man who wants a friend now, and he's batshit insane. But chronologically, it seems his former self shows through more and more. That's why they added Marcy. Those two episodes were probably the best in Adventure Time. And I've liked AT since it was still a wedgie on CN hosted by Frederator on youtube.

Eh, I've never seen the appeal.
But yeah, AT is tied with Invader Zim for my favorite western cartoon. Those two characters are awesome.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you one of my all-time favorite manga series ever.

The story is set in a dystopian alternative present where any kind of substance able to alter the state of mind is legalized and authorized for consumption at home or in designated places called Pomp Bars.
These products, once considered very dangerous, are now freely advertised on TV. The bartender chooses the ones more suited to his customers and serves them with special cocktails.

When the Pompies movement obtained the liberalization of the drugs it seemed a historically meaningful change destined to improve the world - a dream realized in a manner that radically affected humanity's way of life.
But in a world where all feelings are artificial and where everyone is a potential drug addict, nothing has really changed for the better. Only a select few drugs are considered dangerous and put under strict control by hygiene offices, which is given full authority to handle matters related to the severely addicted.

The main character is Kabu, a small-time peddler and heavy addict. Used to any kind of hallucinogenic trip, he is able to feel the happiness through the ecstasy of the drug, while on the same time hypocritically hating who gave birtn to that society which has forced him to the live this way.
After an overdose caused by mixing two incompatible drugs, he spends his days looking for stimulants until the encounter with an enigmatic man who offers him a new kind of illegal substance…Ultraheaven
From that moment on his incredible journey begins - where dream and reality are fused in an undivided world - causing him both hysterical joy and unbearable pain.

But what is Ultraheaven and who is behind its creation? And who is the guru promoting the 'medication' as a powerful way to influence the whole universe surrounding us by exploiting the quantum theory?

With the help of a special amplifier helmet, Kabu starts a trip deep into the his consciousness, diving into a nightmare he could never have imagined…

Holy shit this is amazing!

I like how the drug mechanisms and names (L-Dopa, Tryptophan, etc) do work like that IRL, this guy knows his shit.

And the art is pretty cool, too.
Thanks for getting this to my attention!

This anon has it right.

It's too damn long. But my biggest problem is it was meant to be a "build your own adventure quest" that was thrown out the door because Huss wanted to do his own thing.

What irritates me the most is the creator, he is the king of all faggots.

No.829

Started off relatively light and fun, then devolved into a nigh-unreadable clusterfuck of plot and characters.
I seriously think Hussie has no idea what he wants to do with Homestuck.

No.830

File: 1363731304714.jpg (5.37 KB, 160x186, 1363213917345.jpg)

I'm still following it.
Reading Homestuck is kind of like dropping in on an unending party. If you look really hard you can see people passed out in the hallways and vomit on the floor and trash everywhere and it's just piling up, getting higher every time the strobe lights flash. So you don't look really hard.

bad metaphors aside, I read Homestuck purely for the spectacle. I don't care about the characters or the story beyond how hard Hussy can make me say "WOW!" on each page.
It's hard to explain. I guess it's what buying a prostitute would be like.
